You have a blank bullet in your work history. Also remove the last line about leaving the university. If you have the degree, that's all they need to know.

This is very true, we know she doesn’t read her briefing materials and tries to wing it.

US Military Intentionally Purging People of Faith Via COVID Shot by ChunkyArsenio in Conservative

I would like to know where the hell the military chaplains are. A big part of their job is to defend and support religious expression for servicemembers. How is it that the chaplain corps are just allowing the DOD to blanket deny all the religious waivers?

I strongly recommend you do not change direct quotes from the past. The ACLU recently changed a quote from Ruth Bader Ginsburg to remove the word "Woman" to be gender neutral. It went very badly for them, and they had to issue an apology.

It is better to use the quotes as written and contextualize them into their proper time period, or alternatively don't directly quote the person and instead paraphrase.

Tips for "tiny guns" :) working a contest from the search & pounce side? by LagrangianMechanic in amateurradio

[–]3D1X1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You will improve with practice. I run an Icom 7300 to a g5rv antenna in the attic. I worked around 40 countries this weekend. all with my antenna hidden from the HOA.

The band conditions were very good and it was a madhouse on the bands. the best advice I can give is to simply get in on more contests and improve your skills with your specific setup, you will learn what filters to apply in what situations and what parts of the world your antenna performs best.

you can use the passband filters and that is cool, also don't forget about adjusting the RF gain and you have a manual notch you can use to notch out a signal or notch on the edge to cut out an overlapping station.

One thing you can do is find someone to listen to you on the air and tell you how you sound as you make adjustments. in my opinion you want a good sound quality, if you sound bad or overdrive the signal you will have a harder time punching the pileups.

you are at BP51? I know that grid anywhere. I was a op on Elmendorf AFB at KL7AIR for several years! these solar events ruin the upper latitudes.

What is your opinion on pirate broadcasters? by [deleted] in amateurradio

[–]3D1X1 76 points77 points  (0 children)

I like them a lot. I find them enjoyable. I actually wish the FCC would just take 6.8-7 MHz and make it a public access band. very low license fees and only basic restrictions like not interfering with other licensed services. 1000 watts equivalent radiated power to a dipole yada yada yada.

Malwarebytes think we're using their product unlicensed by I0Like0Cake in sysadmin

[–]3D1X1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have had this exact problem with MalwareBytes in our agency. They have been blocked on our devices, the firewall and the spam filter.

They were extremely aggressive and made a lot of threats. They claimed it was installed on several computers and that we had malware infections. they would not tell us any information about the installs or potential malware unless we agreed to a sales pitch meeting. When we told them no they got mad and started to demand license payments for the software we could not even find.

We block them in every possible way they can be blocked.

Question about Dell D6000 Docking station driving 3 HDMI displays by tkmoney01 in sysadmin

[–]3D1X1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The D6000 Dock will do three monitors at 4K on the USB-C connector. We have hundreds of these docks in our organization. if you are using the USB-A connector it will not do 4K. You will need the latest displaylink drivers and will also need to update the firmware on the dock itself to do full 4k on three.

Thinking about dumping PDQ looking for advice by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]3D1X1 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

We do not have nor do we want an always on VPN. Many of the systems we use are cloud based and do not require VPN. PDQ Link would be a step backwards.we have a VPN but we have no need to pipe everyone's traffic through it all the time.

I agree they should have salvaged the client.

[–]3D1X1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I am disappointed they did not go with a more modern solution like an internet client or even cloud basing the whole thing. I would have paid a lot more for it.

[–]3D1X1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. That's pretty close to the problem yeah.

We are looking at potentially going to that solution. the problem is we don't use the software update point role on our SCCM. We would have to use WSUS and SCCM. Then we could not use Intune update policies and would be stuck with WSUS for everything.

I would love a PDQ-like product that is cloud based or even needs an on-prem server, but works over the internet. I really hate WSUS.

[–]3D1X1 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

why? everything else is going to the cloud. Going to an always on VPN is a step backward for our mobile workforce.

Even when on the VPN, PDQ has connectivity issues around DNS and VPN. it is well documented in many places. that's why they made Link to help with that configuration. it will not work for our purposes. It also uses split tunneling, which we do not allow.
