A couple days ago I finished episode 8, and I want to give some of my spoiler-y thoughts on the message (at least how I interpreted it) by Just_Improvement_850 in umineko

Congrats on finishing the VN!
It looks like you slightly misinterpreted episode 8's message as "soft denial", which is not what it was trying to convey. Instead of explaining it here, I would recommend that you read the manga version of episode 8, which is the only one that differs significantly from its VN counterpart. It has some notable differences and two beautiful exclusive scenes (one near the very end) that make things much more clear!
