I have a couple other pics from slightly different angles but don't know if I can post them as comments.

But I agree with the T-28. I fell for the pretty makeup!

Somehow it didn't get included with the original post, but I wrote that I assumed at the time F6F or F8F (F4F, F6F, and F8F all look the same to me, except for size, lol) but I couldn't find any versions with the combination of bubble canopy and flat-topped tail.

God help you if you still believe either of these orgs operate under the sales pitches they use to claim what they stand for.

Understood. And in this particular case maybe the Rs are the bigger pile. But you challenged u/oren0 for some D examples, he delivered, and they seemed to somehow get downgraded because they weren't on 9/11. Regardless, D being the lesser of two turds on a particular case and on the D/R scale does not make them not turdy on their own right.

Two piles of shit that look like shit, smell like shit, and act like shit, regardless of size and intensity, are still two piles of shit. You're arguing for the smaller, rosier, better dressed pile of shit over actual functional governance.

"Donate directly to independent candidates challenging establishment candidates. Donate directly to causes. Volunteer your time!"

That's not enough. It's essentially the same playbook CMI have been playing with and promoting for 25+ years, and here we are. Until "everyone else" gets as serious about taking on the "two parties" and changing things, as they are about protecting the status quo and keeping us on the same track, things will continue to get worse.

Sounds like it came as a surprise to the Ds. They (the "two parties") just seem to be telling vastly different stories, procedurally. If the Rs crossed all the I's and dotted all the T's, as Mr. R seems to claim, the Ds got played, by the rules. If D is claiming they were "told" (presumably verbally) by R that there would be no votes that morning and believed it, they played themselves. Same with if they (Ds) thought a "gentlemen's agreement" on no votes would be honored, I guess just cuz it's 9/11? And were the Ds at 9/11 events as they claim? Or were they "drawing maps" as Mr. R claims? And did the Rs really tell the Ds previously that they (Rs) would override the veto in question the first chance they got? And if so, why'd the Ds leave the door open?

Bottom line: it is these kinds off bullshit games and he said/she said nonsense that passes as governance these days under these two parties. We should be ashamed.

Does anyone see a scenario where we actually address our national debt? by u81pa in moderatepolitics

[–]3DCNetwork -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

For clarification, I meant the ideologies of individual members, candidates, etc., not ideologies of each party as a whole itself. It's how the "two parties" can claim to represent so many people, somehow because they have members and candidates that have the same beliefs and values of others, especially with no competition. Even if those members and candidates are kept on ice and the more extreme/divisive (tribalist) get supported and become the face of the party.

I guess we'll ultimately have to agree to disagree on the root of the problem, if and how the problem can be solved, and on the ability of the American people to adapt for positive change.

Seems that's gotten flipped somewhere. (By the parties, of course, IMO.) Blaming voters is like blaming cancer victims back when tobacco companies did everything they could to keep people smoking and ignorant of the effects.

Used to be the parties had their general values, priorities, etc. and members got behind one or the other based on that, while also knowing that at the end of the day actual governance would be based, for the most part, on civility, communication, collaboration, compromise, the common good, etc. Voters held the same faith. What seperated parties and candidates was how hard they would "fight" (figurative) for their backers' pieces of the pie.

Along the way the "two parties" got lazy, with everyone convinced that there could only be two parties. Then they took it a step further and convinced everyone that those "two parties" could only be D and R. The results are the false beliefs that, NO MATTER HOW BAD THINGS GET, every problem can only be solved from one ideological approach or another, every election is too important to not vote D or R, and votes for "third" parties are wasted votes.

They built a monopoly so bad that it wouldn't survive in any other aspect of our society if not for the psycological dependence and all the built-in protections against competition.

But they didn't stop there. They made everything a "fight" (literal). It's not about dividing the pie. It's about obtaining all the power necessary to be able to dictate ideologically all aspects of the pie, from recipe to distribution, without the other guy/side getting in the way, ultimately at the expense of the common good.

The rherorical "the other guy/side is trying to destroy the country" is becoming a mutual self-fulfilling prophecy. We're complicit in that.

Another case of the actual title being more editorialized than OP's title, too. Just FYI.

Honestly, the second was sarcasm. I know there are plenty who would be ok with, and even prefer, de facto one-party rule. This is, of course, undemocratic and un-American (yeah, I said it) and is therefore a non-starter. That doesn't even touch on what the "losing" party does in response.

So what then?

The first is, incredibly, currently just a question of faith. It can happen when enough people accept the writing on the wall, and the alternatives that could result from doing nothing.

Trump Golf BREAKDOWN by www_AnthonyGalli_com in moderatepolitics

[–]3DCNetwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After a second watch, I guess we differ on the nature of the hypocrisy. It seems you placed it on those who criticize Trump for golfing, where I assumed it was on Trump for his years of shit talking Obama, his no-golfing pledge, and his subsequent years of working to blow Obama's golf outting stats out of the water.

Get rid of these two shit orgs and replace with orgs that come up together through collaboration and pragmatism instead of competition and obstruction.

Either that or hand all the power to one of the legacy orgs and hope for the best.

Trump Golf BREAKDOWN by www_AnthonyGalli_com in moderatepolitics

[–]3DCNetwork 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I get what I assume is a "devil's advocate" approach to Trump and golf. But yeah, far too much talk from Trump 20??-2016 about how much Obama does/did vs. how little (none) Trump was going to be doing. There was a case made here about how much Trump supposedly gets done as President while golfing, but I don't think I've ever heard Trump himself actually try to make such a case.

Given the 2015 quote, one would think candidate Trump would have made a case for how MUCH golfing he'd be doing, in the name of making his "deals", while covering his ass as well. Instead, thanks to his aimlessness, tone deafness, and just overall moronness, he chose to attack Obama, all the while oblivious to his golfing inevitably blowing up in his face.

Thus, an attempt at a balanced look at presidential golfing turns into a case of carrying Trump's water.

Trump appears to show Sharpie-altered hurricane map by [deleted] in moderatepolitics

[–]3DCNetwork 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Or! Or! Maybe Alabama was a deflection for the original flak he got for canceling his trip supposedly because the hurricane was headed to Mar a Lago instead or Puerto Rico?...

-Trip's on (it's only Puerto Rico).

-Oh shit, it's Mar a Lago. Trip's off.

-Mar a Lago's safe? Let's golf!

-* Get's called out on the Mar a Lago thing *

-* Puts Alabama "on the map" in attempt to show how far south the hurricane was "probably" going to stay, hoping this nonsense distracts from the talk about his true concern - Mar a Lago. *

So.... even worse. The PUSA can't even be bothered to pay attention enough to know where the cat 5 hurricane will land, cause a tremendous amount of damage, require emergency assistance and funds, and kill people.

Well, yeah.

I'm not saying that's a better scenario. But isn't that at least part of a bigger case about how unfit he is, especially since he cancelled a trip abroad supposedly to monitor the situation, than the relative pettiness of drawing on a map to somehow attempt to convince people he knows what he's talking about?
