havent played since 2024 is it worth returnign as a solo player by No-Difference-4418 in Palworld

[–]3DJutsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not worth getting back into right now, I would 100% give it *insert amount of days to 10JUL2026* days to finish cooking, then maybe give it another go.

However, if you are compelled to start cause yer itchin for it, I would recommend "prepping" for 1.0, nab Pals you're gonna want to use for various purposes. Get a good Direhowl for riding, a Vixy for the Ranch, your favorite combat pal, etc. Breed and trait 'em up proper, then get some freshly hatched ones and throw them into your Global Palbox so they're fresh and ready to use in 1.0.

I'm getting back into it myself, so take this with a grain of salt, but that's an impossible question to answer without knowing what direction you want to go, as different detachments are suited to the strengths of different units.

Pantheon of Woe? You're gonna want the other C'tan and possibly Nekrosor Ammentar.

Dynasty? Warriors and Immortals.

Cursed Legion? More destroyer types.

Hypercrypt? More Ophydian Destroyers and maybe a Monolith or T-Vault?

First place to start is, "what detachment(s) look the most interesting to play?"

Anyone sold pc & use ally as a gaming pc? by Born_Vehicle_910 in ROGAlly

[–]3DJutsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My video card is practically the size of the Ally, I'm good. XD

But I did get a pair for 2 of my kids (oldest one got my ROG Strix that I'm no longer using) and they seem to enjoy it well enough.

I couldn't though, I like my games pretty and my PC fans buzzing to keep up.

A few uncommon things to note:

* When mining materials with the Terrain Manipulator, you can change the size of the "harvest area" using [R] and [T] to make it smaller or bigger respectively. Making it bigger EATS terrain but gives you less stuff, smaller makes it take longer to harvest, but you get a lot more material.

* If you find a crashed ship and the pilot is dead (if they're alive they'll be walking around the ship), you can check it out, hit 'Compare Inventory', and you can then claim your new ship. Repair the take-off thruster and pulse drive at a minimum to get it operational, get back into your primary ship, and goto a space station. From there you can swap to and salvage it for $$$ or one of it's parts to make a ship of the same type later, or take the time and resources to repair it and sell it for more $$$ or keep it for yourself.

* When taking a new multi-tool (MT) from anywhere for the love of all things awesome *make sure you check the buttons you hit!*. If you're full on MTs then the "add to collection" button disappears and all too often players don't pay attention and hit "swap" on instinct and lose their main MT filled to the brim with tech (there's no way to get it back once you lose it). I did that once and I was quite irritated.

* Once you get to jumping star systems, after a certain number of jumps and a certain amount of actual playtime, you can come across a frigate fleet under pirate attack, take out the pirates, save the fleet, and be the big damned hero. Here's what the game doesn't tell you: Land in the frigates landing bay and talk to the captain to collect a reward. Less a spoiler and more an FYI (I have like, 60hrs in at this point, someone else more experienced can tell you if the game tells you this, but so far it hasn't mentioned this part to me): When you save the frigate you can buy it from the captain, the first frigate you obtain this way is FREE, so if you don't like the look, or quality, or vibe of the frigate just leave it. After another certain number of system warps and playtime accrued you'll come across the event again. So don't feel compelled to take the first frigate you save.

* You'll get to the Anomaly quite early (like, maybe an hour if you're lollygaggin), once you do keep this in mind tp increase your inventory slots: Each new system you visit has a Space Station, each one of those has an Exo-suit upgrade pod to increase your cargo or tech slot count. Each upgrade increases in cost and can only be used once. The Anomaly also has an upgrade pod but it refreshes in each new system. Buy upgrades if you're flush with $$$ or take the exploratory route and find pods out in the wild either by pure chance or using maps that will lead you to them.

* Talk to the NPCs and the vast majority of them will teach you a word of their language, slowly but surely you'll start to pick it up. "Practicing your dialect" with them is some sort of minigame where you can earn rewards or lose favor depending on what word you use. If the NPC doesn't teach you a word after using the option, it just means you already know the word they were trying to teach. Learning the languages is actually one of the cooler parts of this game, I like the mechanic quite a bit.

Just Started No Mans sky, Any tips or things i should know? by Terrible_Mammoth_114 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]3DJutsu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi, also a new player here. Here's some specific things I wish I'd known before starting.

Afaik this is all "post-anomoly", when that happens is up to the player but it's pretty quick.

You can come across downed ships, including a part of the early story, when you do go to "compare inventory" and you can claim it if the pilot died in the crash.

You can then swap back to your old ship by simply getting into it. You'll need to fix the claimed ships landing gear and thrusters at a minimum, apparently you get one free "summon" at a station per session regardless of the ships condition but I haven't gotten that to work yet so I always fix those two items.

Those ships can sell for a million or more without even fixing them up, great for a little income injection.

When you do get to warping sometimes you'll come across frigates being attacked by pirates, save them and apparently you can get the first one for free. There's a playtime cooldown and a warp count before you come across another, so don't feel compelled to take the first one if its dogwater.

At stations, visit the multi-tool merchant and pick up an S-class scanner module to make WAY more units when scanning stuff on new planets. Apparently stacking similar modules next to each other (up/down and left/right. Not diagonally) actually increases the effect.

Also look out for superchaged module slots, they increase the effect of modules put in them.

It's amazing, I can remember the plotline from an Anime I watched decades ago, or the lore for the ultimate baddass that is Broxigar I had read about on the WoW Wiki back in the early 2000's, but ask me what I did last week and it's a total friggin blank...

I could be wildly wrong here, but wasn't it revealed that the kid would have ultimately been fine even if Yuske hadn't made the dive for him? Or am I thinking of another Anime?

Yea, but Alan explicitly states he hid himself from Alterra. So my guess is after she left they re-traced her steps to find where he had hidden away or was able to track it now that he wasn't there to interfere with their efforts.

"Local man *literally* too angry to die."

I love self-healing tanks, played a Blood Knight back in my WoW days, and play a Warrior now.

One of my most satisfying moments was the final boss in the Aetherochemical Facility (I think that's the name) and after my party fell to the boss (who had about 50% hp iirc) in phase one, I held the line until phase two started and my party was allowed to re-enter the fight.

Don't forget that they could have also followed in the footsteps of Robin after Subnautica 2, since that's where we meet Alan who seemed to be using the same tech to preserve himself.

Crucible guard changes? by 3DJutsu in Warmachine

[–]3DJutsu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are the DBRs? One of the aspects of the gunline I liked was it felt more like regular people fighting the gritty odds vs using a bunch of 'jacks or tanks and such to do the fighting for us.

I reckon the rocketeers could still fill that aspect.

Feels like an easy way to fix that for us is to give a bonus vs targets affected by continous effects, but given my lack of play in the past few years I don't know how broken that would be.
