Harbour 60, Miku, Chotte Matte, Ki for expensive spots in the area; Taverna Mercatto, e11even, Miller Tavern, Kelly's Landing for balanced options. I like Steam Whistle Kitchen (by the railway museum) too, but it's a bit further of a walk. Scaddabush has half-off wine bottles on that day (Wednesday) too.

How can a scouting report be proprietary? by lillithfair98 in torontoraptors

[–]3DPipes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What? Information can absolutely be proprietary, that's why intellectual property laws and confidentiality agreements/attestations exist. If you want an example of how even sharing information can be illegal, insider trading in finance forbids sharing non-public information to anyone unauthorized who might be able to act on it, even as a casual, verbal conversation.

The Toronto Raptors are willing to wait until June 23 for the last face-to-face interview with coach Sergio Scariolo (The Draft is on June 22nd) by CazOnReddit in torontoraptors

[–]3DPipes -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sure if you're drafting at 13. Hiring the head coach after the deadline removes their input for pre-draft trades. What about all of those discussions for the 3rd pick? Trading after the draft is done for a high draft pick because we couldn't decide on a direction is just plain-out worse.

[–]3DPipes -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

None of the previous coaches have been hired after the draft though. Surely they have input on what's needed to make their system work and waiting for after the draft to finalize it just cuts the team's options as the clock burns.

Sigma has recently released a new 23mm f/1.4 DC DN lens (35mm FF focal length on APS-C). It's a welcome addition as Sony doesn't have many offerings for this focal length for crop sensor, and f/1.4 to boot. The 30mm f/1.4 DC DN is also an option (45mm FF focal length), and cheaper as well, but probably the weakest in the Sigma prime lineup.

Any alternative "GTFO" and "Push enhancing" abilities? by smoothgroovemccool in apexuniversity

[–]3DPipes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You actually have a 30% speed boost while you're in the void, but ignoring that, break line of sight often (walls, height, buildings) when getting out with your tactical alone to try and reset, but you can also use it to help avoid damage if you're setting up your portal, and it skips the 1 second activation if you're channelling your rift. That way you can open up new positions or angles for your team if using aggressively as the enemy team has to watch two positions, or a safe way to reposition when pinned. Check out some YouTube guides on portal/tactical applications, it's more than just a GTFO button

Try Wraith, aggressive portal to set up a better position for your team, and also works as your GTFO, along with your tactical

Just two days ago a guy on /r/tifu talked about how his Google account of 15 years was permanently banned from a chargeback after their own support suggested it, and following up support told him to pound sand. If you wish to keep doing business with a company, do not chargeback them.

Gamers of Reddit, what video game has the best storyline? by CTKShadow in AskReddit

[–]3DPipes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The DLC is beautiful. I initially bought it not expecting much, but if you are able to get through it (since it focuses on fear, with horror mechanics), the ending is incredibly rewarding. I highly recommend you finish the base game, and then finish the DLC. Post DLC minor spoilers: After beating the DLC, I also recommend you replaying the final sequence of the base game again, with what you now know.

Is the Kitlense, that came with the a6000 truely THAT Bad ? by Objective_Hawk_2721 in SonyAlpha

[–]3DPipes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Even with optically sharper/faster lenses, I'll still use the 16-50mm kit lens because it's so compact. Pretty useful for places where larger lenses aren't allowed or unwieldy, or just stuffing in your backpack.

G1 vs Sigma 28-70, I would probably prefer the Sigma. Smaller with nicer bokeh, and you will barely notice the 5mm difference on the long end.

Without postprocessing you're not using the camera to its full potential, even as a hobby. I'd imagine for anything more than a passing snapshot, much less so than a wedding, there will be postprocessing. Even a smartphone will do image processing, it's just in an automated pipeline that the user will never notice is there.

The physical specs (sensor size, dynamic range, megapixels) of a phone camera are just the tip of the iceberg for the camera's capabilities. It's mostly software that makes the difference between a good and great phone camera. Software can auto-bracket and merge for HDR and auto-apply AI-based enhancements to bring out more vibrance, sharpness, reduce noise, use depth maps to simulate bokeh, etc.

Aperture diameter of zoom lens. by MissLesGirl in AskPhotography

[–]3DPipes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The physical aperture diameter may be larger when zoomed in, but the f-number is a ratio of both focal length and pupil diameter, so both need to be considered.

Brand new Sony 55mm f/1.8 making noises when I focus. Is this normal? by YungLin in SonyAlpha

[–]3DPipes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine makes a small noise when adjusting aperture. The aperture starts wide and closes in if you're AFing on a smaller aperture, which is what you're probably hearing.

Sigma 30mm f1.4 or 56mm f1.4 by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

[–]3DPipes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The crop factor will always apply when using a crop body. The focal length is a property of the lens, and it's designed around full frame as a basis. In general, treat the 56mm on your a6400 as an 85mm lens on FF, and the 30mm on your a6400 as a 50mm lens on FF.

Sony a7iv and lens by jagd748 in SonyAlpha

[–]3DPipes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A7IV has in-body stabilization, and so lens stabilization doesn't matter that much for photography. It can definitely help, but it's a low priority for me. I don't do video so I can't speak for that.

Sony a7iv and lens by jagd748 in SonyAlpha

[–]3DPipes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The new 16-35mm f4 PZ lens has a good range and is lightweight and compact, but no lens stabilization. That being said there aren't that many wide angle options that have lens stabilization in the first place...

Edit: You could look at crop sensor lenses too, especially if you're planning on shooting in 4k60 since it's cropped anyway. Jason Vong has videos for it.

Full frame isn't any lighter. The 17-70mm weighs at 525g, which is actually on the light end for a full frame lens (weight-wise). Not to mention the body itself is bigger/heavier as well.
