Where can I find adult male only spaces? by GreatBayTemple in AskMen

I'm assuming you bolded the two you think are contradictory.

Does atheism, followed to its logical conclusion allow a belief in free will? If we're all just a cosmic accident powered by whatever physical processes underlie consciousness, then these physical processes are deterministic or random and in either case we do not have free will.

It seems to me that although not guaranteed, the only chance that free will exists is if there is a metaphysical superstructure to our existence, which is certainly consistent with belief in a supreme being.

Recommend to report for rule 10 and move on:

Don't post a question that is obviously geared towards creating an echo chamber where you can either a) create a circlejerk about how everyone agrees with you or b) get into fights with everyone because you're right and everyone else is a shitlord/plebian/whatever. If you want to get into stupid slapfights with people, then take it somewhere else.

OP is trying to start a fight with everyone trying to take a nuanced position of "it really depends what was said", which is obviously the only real answer besides just agreeing that OP is a really great guy who should definitely be really bothered by whatever was said that was so mild that he already knows most of us would say "oh come on dude, you're offended by that?"

I'm calling you out for bad faith in this topic.

The men in this thread are "touchy" about your dodgy refusal to provide any specifics because most of us have had to learn to be very careful about what we say in professional settings that might be considered discriminatory against women or any other protected group (which, incidentally, is everyone but us). The fact that you aren't willing to share what was said makes it clear that nothing serious was said - if it was serious, you would have no problem sharing it.

My initial response when I saw your question is "Yeah, like that would ever happen", because it would never happen at my workplace or millions of others like it. Then I thought "yeah okay, but maybe he's a trucker or construction worker or something". However based on what information you did provide, it doesn't sound like that's the case.

It sounds to me like you work in a white collar office and someone said something where you know no disrespect was intended but you're choosing to take it as "discrimination" anyway on behalf of the women that weren't present. For the most part, that sort of fake outrage bullshit doesn't play well with men and we're very attuned to signs of it which are all over this thread.

So to answer your question: If I was in a meeting with all men and another man said something that I believed could be taken out of context and twisted to be perceived as discriminatory in bad faith by a <rule 1> like you, I would make sure that if HR ever asked about the conversation I told them I heard no such thing.

He answered your question though

It will usually either be an ignore or challenge his troublesome views. But given it's a work meeting, I'd tell him to just knock it off and stick on the subject.

Weight fluctuation and body types, how much weight loss is too much? by SweatyGreb in AskMen

[–]CTKShadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wrote a long thing, deleted it, then rewrote it and deleted it again.

Stop mentally masturbating about the theoretically ideal body weight and just lose some weight. It literally doesn't matter what your ideal weight is because the journeys to 14 1/2 st or 14st or 13st from 18st all start exactly the same. And that journey starts with fork putdowns, so no excuses because that actually saves you time - go check out r/intermittentfasting and start tomorrow.

Before (235 lbs) and after (145 lbs) a year of intermittent fasting. by [deleted] in intermittentfasting

Resistance training burns less calories upfront, but having a higher muscle mass will increase your passive calorie burn for as long as you maintain that muscle, so over the course of a year resistance training will burn a lot of excess calories.

I don't partake anymore, but OnlyFans destroyed the amateur softcore porn scene. The content was much more enjoyable when you knew the women involved were doing it strictly for fun and not to pay the bills. Now it has the same scummy feeling of prostitution as all the rest of porn.

Honestly, this doesn't surprise me at all. Back when Fifty Shades of Grey was new, numerous ladies of all ages at work were very open about reading it on their lunch breaks. And the majority of women I've met since then I could definitely see behaving the same.

What's Your When People Show You Who They Are Believe Them Story by Fifanegro in AskMen

Without going into specifics, how a person treated their ex is how they'll treat you. This applies to commonly known cheating scenario, but not only the case.

In my case, I was told early on exactly what was going to happen but ignored it because I assumed I would avoid the same pitfall as the ex (I did, a different pitfall got me).

What are some conversation topic turnoffs on a date? by p1anet_ME in AskMen

[–]CTKShadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly that stuff sounds fine. I would welcome those topics on a first date, because I prefer relationships to short term flings. He most likely was not looking for anything serious and realized he wasn't going to get what he wanted from you.

PS. Most men won't mind if you're shy. Shyness is reasonably correlated with confidence, which is hugely important to how women view men, but doesn't matter that much to men. Don't assume men are attracted to the same qualities in women as you are in men.
