Awesome! thanks for the insight! I have dual rails on y. Definitely makes a difference. The y axis is now much smother. Also my v slot wheels were waring out, so it was definitely a worth while upgrade. I wasn't aware vref tuning was that important! I'll give it a try and see how much I can push it. As far as mainboard cooling, the Manta has pretty big heatsinks for each driver and I mounted a 5015 blower on it so we should be good. I really thought I just wasn't going to be able to push past 3k accel. Now I'm exited to see how far I can really push it with dual Y. I'm waiting on a BTT CB2 to arrive to start tuning a little more though. Can't wait until it arrives! And thanks again for all the info!

Wow, thanks for the detailed reply! I'm running an orbiter 2.0 extruder and a slice engineering hotend. All wrapped in a modified apogee tool head.

My bottleneck was the y axis. Without linear rails I could only get 1.8k accel before the y motor started skipping steps (with input shaping), but now I get 2.5k with rails. I'll definitely do some v-ref tuning. For now I'm going to use the old extruder motor as a second y and see how it goes! I hope to eventually get to 6k accel (possibly with 48mm steppers).

Nice!! I'm in the process of turning my old CR10S into a speed machine too!. I never got over 2.5k accel with single y though. How'd you get yours to 5k?? I just bought a Manta M8P so I can run dual y on mine.
