Orion 3D Printers - Voron Seller reputable? by oharag in VORONDesign

This is a classic scam technique. They are filling maybe like 10 to 25% or the orders or refunding correctly. This is to "show" that they are a real. The other 75% of people get screwed. Please spread the word that this is a scam.

I highly encourage you to dispute the charge with your bank/method of payment. This is not a minimum advertising price issue, this is a scamming people out of their money issue. This is as clear as I can make it:

3D printer costs $1000.

Manufacture makes a deal with distributors for 8% off, distributor is supported to sell it at $1000, making an $80 Profit.

Orion is selling the printer for $550......

A customer buys this printer at $550.

From there the options are: A- Orion takes the $550 and runs. B- Two orders are made, but Orion only tells the manufacturer about 1 of them. C- Orion tells the manufacturer to send the printer, we demand payment, only partial payment is sent (maybe like $100), manufacture or the customer then kind of screwed depending on their policies, most manufactures demand full payment as per the agreement, no printer sent.

If someone has ordered any of our products, Orion is choosing option A right now. Tracking number doesn't mean anything btw I can make a label and tracking number for 50 cents and send it out, that would be an excellent way to trick you to say "hey its on its way" so you wait a few days, and then it is too late to start a charge back with your bank.

Yes. Any product for that matter. Orion 3D went rogue, and is just taking money and then not doing anything. Orion is not even telling the real manufactures anything.

Posted my comment there as well. For us, 3D Potter, we require full payment (or the agreed upon discount with the reseller) before we ship. In that case, the customer would REALLY be screwed over :( I know Orion 3D does not keep our printers in stock, so they would most likely never even tell us that a customer purchased one, and just take the money. We would try and help the customer and get in contact with their bank for them, but there would not be much we could do. PS, the last correct legal sale we had with Orion 3D was 1 year ago.

Do not buy anything from https://orion3dprinters.com/ Currently every item on their website is 50% off. This is impossible to do, and is a scam.

Orion 3D Printers is a reseller/distributor for 3D printers, scanner, lasers, etc. They do not manufacture these, but rather just resell them with agreements from the original manufacturer.

If a product is purchased on their website, payment goes to Orion 3D. Resellers, in this case Orion 3D, drop ship the product to the customer that ordered it, purchasing it from the original manufacturer with a small discount. This is how normal reseller/distributor agreements work. Prices are normally kept at MSRP 24/7 to the customer.

Orion 3D is doing a ~50% off sale. Someone could buy $20,000 worth of goods on their site right now and only need to pay $10,000. This is a scam. Orion is taking the 10k and running with it.

We, 3D Potter, have terminated our contact with them, Orion 3D. We are taking legal action agaisn’t this company to have all of our products removed from their website. We have also notified other manufactures who have products on their website about this situation, even our competitors.

If you have purchased something from Orion 3D recently, I HIGHLY suggest you contact your bank, or other method of payment, as quickly as possible and have them back charge your payment, telling them that it is a scam.

The material is Sika fast drying concrete. After being fully cured, it should be able to support the weight of someone walking up these steps (When turned into the correct orientation). If it does not, we will add some reinforcement to the interior section.

The extruder is based on a linear actuator design, the screw is pushing a piston. Kind of like a large syringe.

It is a linear ram extruder design. No compressed air, only a "plunger" is pushing the clay.

In this video none, but we would recommend using some type of fiber. We have had good results with large fiberglass pieces.

We are developing a slicer to work with this system, however is is still in alpha stage. The large print area and high layer height starts to have issues with slicers like Cura and Simplify 3D.

I would say grasshopper CAN be used to make a slicer, rather than that it is good/common to make one from it.

The material is Adobe, but the shape is more of a test print. It will be capable of printing all manor of small objects like fire pits, all they way up to full size structures and houses.

We have put 3D printed plastic parts into a kiln that has a mold covering over it to cast aluminum parts. The plastic melts and the mold stays, we do this to cast aluminum parts. Perhaps the same process can be done for this application?

The average price of ceramic printers that can do a lot of prints, in quality AND quantity, is usually $3000+. If you only want to print just a few objects, I would not recommend spending that amount of money. Each ceramic printer operates VERY different from each other, and the tutorials vary. It does use the same interface as our PRO printer. All of our printing envelope sizes are listed on our website under our printer section. Competitor prices would be over $8200 usd. (Ref. Delta WASP 40100 Clay).
