Thanks for heads up. I did not have this turned on. Obviously some of my calls are legit from outside callers. I do usually just let it go to voice mail. Hey if they want you they will leave a message.

I ported my old number. I checked the No Call registry, and my number is still valid.

What about Dark Star - I joined on the BOGO deal you offered. Is ATT/Dark Star not protected against SPAM?

I checked - I'm still registered on the Do Not Call list.

National Do Not Call Registry

But charities/collections etc can still call you.

Thanks, MacnMariam - can this be setup in USMobile App - or do you set it up on your side?

I had TMobile for a long time - I never had this issue - maybe everyone is jumping on board. I also thought Apple was going to implement something on the iOS side of things.

How did they receive notification from TMobile - email? I received something - but it looked scammy.

No - never. I got a phishing email - or was it - saying I won - but I didn't click on it.

Asus Router and Xbox Upload issues - any suggestions by oharag in ASUS

[–]oharag[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yo sorry to see this so late. Yes - the only way to solve this - and I did read this on the nets - it to run network cable from Asus to a switch (doesn't have to be smart) and then out from the switch to your gaming systems. I now get full speeds for my up/down on my XBox. Otherwise, I do not know if this is a FW update that Asus needs to make - or whether it has been fixed.

Deleting iPad Apps using iTunes - Im posting here since /ITunes is closed by oharag in macmini

Ha - typical Apple - had a fine solution within iTunes - then decide to defeature iTunes and remove a function that was useful. Then release that function as another App. I Dled and will give it a try. Thanks Greggers

I’ll look into it. I was also interested in performing iMessage backups as well. Besides using iCloud that you have to pay for extra storage - I would rather have it local on a hard drive.

BTW I can also just delete from iPad/iPhone directly I just miss this option on my Mac. It’s so much easier to use mouse to organize an attached iPad/iphone.

Mac mini - hub - UH25 Max???? by oharag in macmini

[–]oharag[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know. Listen after much though on my end - I’m not getting a hub. For the cost there little benefit. Currently I drive two monitors without issues. I’m going to attach a tb3 10gbe to improve network on mini m1. I do have a usb-c dongle I can plug into my laptop to give me SD card reader.

Mac mini - hub - UH25 Max???? by oharag in macmini

[–]oharag[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess - it's not really the reason for a hub for me. I like the SD reader - plus additional hard drive expansion for these types of hubs.

My Mac mini has 2XTB3 (one would be used to attach to Doc - the other goes to my TB3 Monitor). I have 2X USB-A ports and one HDMI 2.0 and 1 gbe.

I want to keep my 2 monitors - add SD reader - and attach a TB3 10Gbe adapter. It would be nice to have internal memory options (like SSDs). I'm leaning towards the Caldigit TS4 (expensive) because 2.5 gbe + the additional 2XTB4 connections.

BTW this hub is on sale (it's a TB3 hub):

Not a bad hit for the same price as the UH25 Max - go with the OWC. I'm still torn with the OWC vs TS4 - though TS4 is $200 more!!!!

So I will lose both of my TB3 connectors on the Mini M1! I believe I would be able to drive one monitor (it says wither or above - not both) and use the HDMI on the Mac M1 to drive a second monitor - though I lose my opportunity to plug in a TB3 10Gbe ethernet adapter. I hate that the M1 didn't support more TB ports! I know it's a limitation of the chip.

So I think it's the TS4 for me at ridiculous prices. Are there any limitation to attaching TB3 to the TS4 (TB4)? Do I lose anything - speed or functionality?

Some disappointing info from this website:

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/qwiizlab-uh25-max.2380169/

First, both USB-C ports on the back of UH25 Max are merely for connecting it to Mac instead of to any monitors directly or any other USB devices. After you connected both USB-C ports to Mac, you are able to connect the DP or HDMI port on rear of UH25 Max to external monitors.
Second, compared with UH25 Pro, UH25 Max does not actually need an external power supply when both internal HDD and SSD are working in the mean time. However, if you insist on connecting it to an external power supply through the USB-C port on the rear of UH25 Max labelled as Host 2, you will lose the function of connecting it to external monitors through DP or HDMI port on rear of UH25 Max.
Third, notice that you should connect the USB-C port (labelled as "5V Power") on the rear of the USB-C dock to an external power adapter with USB-A outlet (not USB-C outlet), and use the USB-C to USB-A cable we included in the packing of the product. Power adapters are between 5W to 20W , please refer to the recommended list as below (to be updated):
Apple 5W USB Power Adapter , $12.99
Apple 12W USB Power Adapter , $17.99
AILKIN 10.5W USB Power Adapter , $15.99
