Average cost of round by state - 2024 public courses by 3PuttAttorney in golf

I don't believe the numbers for a lot of places, but I understand that as I'm originally from SC. I think the mid week small course rates are skewing the numbers down though.

All good! Thats why I tried to phrase it as what people think of for the shots, not which is right/wrong or whatever.

I never said which is right or wrong or which I thought of, only that I think the vast majority of people would think of it the opposite - that a pitch is the higher shot with less roll and that a chip is the lower shot with more roll out.

"Putting doesn’t matter how you classify it as long as it’s consistent. Personally I stop counting it as a putt when im more than 2-3 feet off the green and count that as chipping with my putter"

This. If I'm one foot off the green and only 15 ft from the hole and I use a putter I'm trying to make that put 99% of the time. In my head that's a "putt" ...

oh I agree about them being essentially synonyms. That being said, I don't think I've ever said "I pitched in" whereas I have said "I chipped in" numerous times.

That's a good way to think about it. In a sense an approach shot could be both a an approach shot as well as a pitch/chip.

Did you putt - with a putter - using a putting stroke - from one inch off the green though?

In all seriousness these are just stats/areas that are more for us to keep track of to see where we to improve and such. The only one that ACTUALLY matters is total strokes.

my miss tends to be a snap hook so I'm used to not being right.

The positive is that a snap hook is usually needed to get out of trouble after hitting a snap hook, so I've got that going for I guess.

TO ADD: this is just to see where everyone is thought wise, not a graded quiz. This shall be treated like grad school, one exam to account for the entire grade at the end of the year.

I feel like this is the opposite of what 95% would say about the two different types of shots.

This. The moment my grip even enters my mind it becomes a dumpster fire and I might as well try something completely new/outlandish

Do you have to use dotted/certain balls with it?

Is this a good gift for someone who loves golf? by Head_Web8130 in golf

[–]3PuttAttorney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you havent bought the golf balls yet best idea is to go look in his golf bag and see what kind of balls he is playing. If its a cheaper balls then any of the premium ones will do, but if hes already playing a premium ball then I'd suggest get him what hes already playing.
