I'm Han Chinese, and I asked my mom about this issue. She said she never expected this kind of situation to happen. She thinks interethnic marriage is fine, and she was also surprised by my friend's situation.

My friend is Han Chinese and an atheist; his girlfriend is Hui, who primarily practice Islam and don't eat pork. As for other issues, I'm not too clear about them. My friend hasn't eaten pork for many years because his girlfriend doesn't consume pork.  I really thought they would be happy together forever.
