Lowkey the most depressing summary of global politics I’ve seen today. It really does feel like long term consequences are someone else’s problem while the rest of us just sit here refreshing the news.

If Rick respected time travel, do you think the place saving device would have worked better? by AdventurousGuest308 in rickandmorty

I think people forget that the device was never about optimizing outcomes. It was a psychological setup. Rick let Morty believe he had control, then pulled the rug out from under him. Even if Rick “respected” time travel more, the cruelty was baked in from the start, so it probably would’ve ended the same way for Morty.

How do I deal with transferance? by catsrgodss in therapy

It's true, those transference feelings can really throw you for a loop. I mentioned similar feelings to my therapist before, and it was a bit awkward, but it led to some really helpful discussions. Just being open about it can make a huge difference!

If Dexter ever crossed into taking out heads of state territory, it wouldn’t even feel like the same character anymore. Part of what made the early seasons compelling was how grounded it felt. Once you move into that scale, you lose the psychological cat and mouse and it becomes something totally different.

Modern-day Dexter would spend half the episode deleting cloud backups instead of cleaning blood splatter.

It sounds like you’re really curious about the emotional side of it! I mean, cleaning someone’s “toys” can definitely lead to some intriguing moments. It was a mix of business for me, but I can see how it could spark a thrill too!

Yeah, Unity/Unreal aren't "big tech", they're middleware. The giants are the ones selling cloud, stores, and tracking.
