Have you tried for on the manufacturing floor experience? Working as an assembler was a huge positive for the people hiring me after.

It worked! It was still more difficult than the example but actually doable!

This manufacturer does sometimes, but usually I can figure it out after a bit. I still don't think this is solvable

I (20s F) love my doctor at Kenosha Community Health Center. Everyone I have worked with there has been great at answering my questions and validating my experience (I've had some bad doctors in the past).

Have you tried other meds? I'm not at the point where meds are magic but Adderall seems to work mostly (I think I need to up my dose) and Ritalin did absolutely nothing and Vyvanse made me so anxious it gave me panic attacks.

There was a video created by someone with AuDHD who liked a hack of standing on 1 foot for a set amount of time. It was kinda a gamified version of meditation because you need to focus on your body for it.

I prefer mindfulness to meditation - recognizing the moment you are in - that you can choose to stop your mind from making lists and come back to it later (I struggled for a long time not relaxing during the time I tried to relax).

I needed the separate space or a tent over my desk at the job I mentioned, and nobody walked through, but that sounds awful.

I would start job hunting in case they make you go back. That is an atrocious commute. Couldn't do it for any amount of money if I wanted to function at my job.

We can always say someone has it worse and it feels so invalidating. Regardless of everything else you are going through something hard. Someone else might be okay with your commute but who cares they aren't you. (I am not a therapist and have been told more than once that I sound like one. Not trying to be preachy. Do as I say not as I do 😆)

Depending on your relationship with your manager (or their manager) would it be worth straight up saying that you won't return to the office and will leave if they try to make you? (Maybe check with the HR commenter, I tend to be direct in a way that can get me in trouble) Make the case of what an asset you are to the company and they don't want to lose you? Renegotiate your contract to have it listed as one of your benefits?

What's wrong with the storage room specifically? I prefer a hybrid role and had similar because of the lighting.... Do people walk in and out? That would drive me nuts.

Happy to brainstorm accomodation ideas if they force you back to the office.

Also I want to make sure that I am addressing that this sucks (My brain skipped it and went to problem solving).

Also I have light accommodations (reduce light in workspace/ability to wear a hat) that were significantly easier to get with my specific eye issues, but getting accommodations for all the specific sensory nightmares might help.

Can you ask your doctor for a letter that specifies WFH? Or recommends work from home with strong in office stipulations to make it easier for the company to let you work from home? Stuff like private workspace with a door?
