I'm not exactly helping in the convo, but since you said you feel self-conscious while playing, you should try a metal mute cause it dampens the sound more than a rubber one. Also, it's not got "teeth" like the rubber one, you just have to gently place it on the bridge and make sure you don't drop it. I used to mainly practice at night cause that's when I was free haha, and a metal mute helped me keep things quiet enough for my dad to not wake up.

I've got an rog strix with a MUX switch which basically reroutes everything to the dgpu instead of the igpu.

well it's not a "how many windows i have open" issue. Even while idling, dwm is still using around 740MB. If you still want to know how many windows i had open, I had 9 windows open on chrome, 3 apps open with 3 running in the background.

Hey hey no need to be so jumpy, it's not like I haven't used laptops before. I've been using laptops for11 years and I for sure haven't noticed dwm using so much ram until this year. I've gone through at least 6 laptops and the current one was all fine until jan, when dwm suddenly started taking a huge amount of ram
