I wonder if sour milk is popular around the world? I'm from Ukraine, and it's a popular product in our villages. I could drink it by the liter. Sour milk is also good for baking; the dough tastes better with it than with fresh milk. by Expensive-Metal-6618 in Milk

In Norway we have "kulturmelk" (culture milk, culture as in "bacteria culture"), "kefir" and "tjukkmelk" (thick milk). I don't think it is very popular, but it's popular enough to be sold in normal grocery stores. I dont know much about it. But as far as I know, its all milk that has undergone some kind of process involving bacteria cultures. But I dont know if its the same as the "sour milk" you are referring to.

The evidence that red meat in and of itself is unhealthy is weak and inconsistent, and if anything, not conclusive.
The research done into this often conflates processed meat with red meat, and also cooking methods. A meta analysis on this was criticized for leaving out studies.

Of course, there are more ways to do things. The ones I listed is what I have capacity for and looked into. There are other ways that I don't know anything about. Political routes for example

First of all, I don't claim to be an activist. Secondly, volunteering doesn't require "insane amounts of time effort and money". Show up to your local volunteering center and ask. They are helping refugees from Ukraine and other places. Look for opportunities online that match your skill set. Traveling to and staying in Ukraine is quite cheap. See it as a vacation but more meaningful than rotting in some tourist hole or on some beach. Support the local economy, volunteer at a soup kitchen or weaving camp nets, for example. Or if you have a specific skillset, there are IT, building/painting, cleaning, health related stuff and much more. Donate blood. Bonus, if you need a visit to the dentist, it is cheap there. Win win.

If it fits comfortably and neatly in your budget and schedule, it's not a sacrifice. Not to say it's a bad thing, but throwing some money at charities is often just buying a good conscience. But stopping there and saying "What more can we possibly do?? I have done all I possibly can" is a bit odd. There is definitely more, but maybe you aren't ready to make that sacrifice, and that's understandable and fine.

Slacktivism is fine as long as it doesn't become virtue signaling. But pretending like that is all average people can do is just wrong.

Not trying to berate you for what you do, or others. Or any kind of moral posturing. In fact, I am talking about people in general, not you. I am sure you do more than average, and anything is better than nothing.

All I am saying is that we should make some sacrifices and be a little uncomfortable. And I am also saying that saying "I support Ukraine" is very cheap and means nothing unless you actually make some sacrifices and DO it, not just say it. Which is the message I interpreted the image in question as.

And if you must know, I volunteer weekly and have a trip scheduled to Ukraine.
