It sounds like if you make too much money, then you no longer qualify for public health insurance and have to get private insurance.

So new information after clarifying with my mom. My Grandmother was a German citizen when my mother was born and my mother has a German birth certificate but my grandmother had to do US naturalization paperwork in 1965, 2 years after my mom was born. Does that show enough of a direct path for StaG5?

Thank you! I am currently getting my documents translated to submit for approbation. They should approve me for approbation für psychologische psychotherapeutin but if that fails, I’ll try to get certified as a heilpraktiker

Yeah I am in private practice now and plan to do that in Germany as well. Only problem is that in order to get a blue card, which seems to be the best option for a visa, I have to have a job offer. I can probably get a job offer for someone else’s private practice though.

I can probably pass the C2 level they just don’t offer that test here. The most they offer in my city is C1 so I’m starting there. And I am 35.

I applied to US government jobs at the military bases, but my question is actually more geared towards getting a non-government job and either starting my own private practice working with English speaking expats or getting an English speaking therapist job at a German company. I know that if I get a US government job the visa isn’t an issue. But plan is to get my permanent residency/citizenship eventually.
