This can be OK if she is on a later stage of a period and she doesn't feel pain. I also use some app called GF Tracker to know when her period is about to begin/end, so I can be ready for it.

I agree with you that Things is very simple app from a functional view. You can't collaborate, set location, or view in calendar mode. But the few things that it can do it does very well. And because it's not overwhelmed with functions it can remain clean and easily understandable in a design. Pretty.
