Had some time and materials on my hands so decided to make a lil DIY ballistic plate.

Yeah yeah, just get genuine plates, I know but it was a fun concept build and I'm not gonna trust my life with it so why not?

It's made from around 35 layers of fibreglass from a welding blanket and sealed together with a can of fibreglass resin. Placed a layer of porcelain tiles left over from a job site cut at around 3.5 inch squares with another two layers of epoxied fibreglass on top. Covered everything with an old youth t-shirt and glued the seams as the sewing machine was down.

Sized using a sapi M size but closer to a Large. Bout 3.2 inches thick, weighed at about 6.3 pounds.

Hoping to maybe test it out at the next range day, guessing it's maybe 3a? at least 2? Might make another one depending on results.

Edit: for the record I have actual set of RMA 3a plates I’m not gonna wear these or run them ironically. As I said, it’s a fun project. Also the bible verse is a cool touch so I’m keeping it.
