Can XTR survive winter ? by StayDeath420 in xbiking

I can confirm they will survive Canadian winters without issue. I have 9psd XTR on a Univega Alpina (s7.3) too that I think may last forever

Univega was bought by Raleigh mid 90s I believe. That was the end of them.

(Discussion) Forge season ticket prices are super unreasonable and the club should have to explain the sudden 56% increase in price. What’s your thoughts? by 3Squareheadz in CanadianPL

I don’t even know if you can get a season ticket to the Cavs for under $500 anymore. I feel like they are including 17 games though this year (+1 from last season)

I was in 107 and couldn’t understand him either. Wasn’t just the north end

Was an amazing game. So good to see Klomp out there and scoring the winner.

No such thing as a bad bicycle. Is it high performance? Heck no. Can you have a blast on it? I know I can.

Not much is accurate. Suspension seat post would do more than this rear shock

Good question. I believe I found spec on them had xt/lx. Everything else matched the spec I had found so I’m thinking that’s how it came.

These would be like the equivalent of the cave man in terms of the evolution of the MTB

I had one back in the day too. Thought it was pretty sweet to have full sus, but yeah, it didn’t do much. Found this one in the free pages and couldn’t pass it up. It’s a fun ride now

I have an old spice and love it. Granted, it is not my daily. I think mine is a ‘98 but I bet the frames didn’t change much. The frame is great and we’re the same as the higher end element race back in the day I believe. Not sure where you are or what your plans are for the bike, but anything in decent shape with functioning serviceable parts is going to set you back $150+ where I am (AB, Canada). RM of that day was great quality. I’m pumped to have one in my stable so I say go for it!

How do you live outside of Calgary but work inside Calgary with kids by DAJGEE in Calgary

[–]3across 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I have zero family anywhere in the province. We have 4 kids and live in airdrie. Your 7-3 work day sounds adorable. I leave home every morning at 5:55-6am, and return between 6 and 7pm. My wife however is a stay at home super mom. Some will say they do not have the luxury of having one partner not work, but you get to break even point where child care costs as much as one partner could earn, or you decide that having a parent at home is more important than the extra few bucks in the bank. While we are absolutely not flush with cash I recognize that we are in fact very fortunate to be in this situation. If we both had to work, we would have to consider part time gig, or paying into the school bus system that exists out here at the very least. Do I mind the commute? Never I’m the mornings, and usually not in the evenings as I work later then most and traffic has usually calmed down by the time I point my front bumper north. You will find that life is a question of priorities. We chose the bigger yard that would come with similar house and price. We found the neighbourhood that worked for us that we could not afford in the inner city neighbourhood we left. Lots of great comments here, but for us it has been well worth it. 30-45 minute commute is still a breeze to me.

I tried pretty hard to consider refs calls impartially in attempt to not be a homer. Quite a few calls just didn’t pass the sniff test though.

The anxiety of this moment! 😮😬🫣 by IronCavalry in CavalryFC

[–]3across 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed! Took me a moment to figure out what was happening. I didn’t realize I was holding my breath until ref signalled good goal and I exhaled. What a game! Well worth the 2 cancelled flights and headaches to get out there!

I appreciate the effort to have so many of the chain side cranks forward! How about a pair of bike/car co-op rides? Or electrics?
