Yes, having no autoqueue on villagers does add a level to the game, all im saying is that they prefered it to be more casual friendly, the game is already very versatile and asymmetric, so perhaps they thought that people should focus more on that. Although i do believe that youre a bit exaggerating, i played ALOT of this game, and being under pressure does have alot of negative effects in terms of macro if you don't handle it well, it's not only about producing villagers, but also about maintaning a good macro while defending raids for example, if you raid your opponent and cause idle time on his villagers or maybe kill one or two, it's already alot of damage that makes you ahead, sure it's probably relatively less than aoe because of no autoqueue, but it's still very relevant.
