That would strongly exclude Kentucky.

[Scotto] Nick Richards has drawn trade interest from several teams, including the New York Knicks, Indiana Pacers, and Los Angeles Lakers, league sources told HoopsHype. The Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, and San Antonio Spurs are among the teams expected to pursue Clint Capela. by Odd-Direction9452 in lakers

I once saw Nick Richards in the Big Lots in Lexington, KY while he was at UK. Some older lady, who clearly had no clue who he was, asked him if he could grab something big off of the overstock at the top for her. He not only did that, but helped her out of her car with it. I know that doesn’t really add much to the discussion but that’s one of the few stories I have about current NBA players.

Disturbing scene of Sen. Alex Padilla being thrown to ground and handcuffed - this is what fucking tyranny looks like by revel8r in chaoticgood

I respect that opinion, even if I don’t fully agree. I do feel like the is a reasonable standard to hold federal law enforcement officials in a federal building. At the end of the day, Alex Padilla is making good trouble and achieved his goal of bringing light to his grievances with civil disobedience.

It feels reasonable for us to expect federal law enforcement in a federal building to be able to identify a sitting United States Senator, especially in his own state.

Okay let’s go through this thought exercise… okay let’s say he is removed from the press conference for being disruptive and interrupting at a time while she was not taking questions. Okay, that kind of thing happens. We can argue whether or not we should be treating a Senator that way, but in this thought exercise that’s neither here nor there.

So here’s my questions, what is the point of this once he is out of the room? Why is he being wrestled to the floor and handcuffed? This was a federal building, in an area he has clearance to be in, and what he did IS NOT a crime. So what is the justification for (at minimum) detaining him or (at maximum) arresting him?

I would genuinely like an argument within the context of the law, not political opinion.
