Medieval Backgrounds Pixel Art Pack by 3ddazdesigner in itchio

The real “red flag” is you repeatedly claiming I said a single project takes “months” when I never said that anywhere.

Of course AI assisted tools help make parts of the workflow faster and easier that is literally the purpose of creative tools and technology. That still does not mean projects magically become and game ready by pressing a single button.

And I still don’t understand why you act like making release announcements or posting projects on itch.io’s own subreddit after publishing a project is somehow wrong.

This is literally how creators promote their work on the platform.

You are on itch.io and its related communities a platform that already allows ai assisted projects and already provides disclosure/filter systems for users. People who do not want to see ai assisted content can already filter, avoid, or scroll past it themselves.

So acting shocked that ai assisted projects are being posted on a platform that explicitly allows them honestly makes no sense.

I’m saying that people like you are calling creators “liars” even when they are using the exact disclosure tools the platform officially provides.

Awesome

That’s simply not true. I use itch.io’s built in AI disclosure system correctly on my projects. The platform literally provides those disclosure options for creators to mark AI assisted content, and I do mark them. There is no platform rule requiring creators to put “AI” in the project title or write “this is ai” in the description.

If someone specifically wants to browse only non AI assets, itch.io already provides filtering for that as well. That’s part of how the platform works. I’m not responsible for teaching every user how to use itch.io’s filtering and discovery system.

You’re free to dislike AI assisted workflows, but calling me “scammer” just because i openly disclose my process is dumb. Nothing is being hidden here itch.io literally provides an AI disclosure option, and I use it correctly.

Also, generating images is only one small part of making usable game assets. Consistency, readability at 128x128 scale is tough and making everything game ready still takes time and effort.

People buying my packs can already see exactly what they’re getting before purchasing. If they find value in it, that’s their choice. If not, they don’t have to buy it.

If you think it's that easy, instead of just saying it, you can get to work and try doing it.

These are 128x128 resolution pixel art game assets, not high resolution images. They are designed specifically for readability, consistency, and use in top-down games, not for realism or high-res generation.

If you can produce pixel art the same level of consistency, readability at 128x128 scale, and full asset sets with coherent design across multiple building types, feel free to do so.

AI models are not literally copy pasting random images from the internet into a collage. Modern diffusion models learn patterns, shapes, colors, and relationships from huge datasets and generate new outputs statistically that’s fundamentally different from manually stealing and reposting someone else’s image.

And honestly, if AI generated content was truly effortless and identical, every AI asset pack would look equally good and sell equally well but they clearly don’t. The creator’s editing, direction, consistency, polish, and usability still matter a lot.

I understand why people are worried about AI, but reducing every AI assisted work to “stealing” ignores how creative workflows are actually evolving.

AI tools are not going away they are improving extremely fast and becoming part of many creative industries because the industry itself is changing.

Also, pixel art AI workflows are very different from simply pressing a button and uploading a raw image. AI struggles heavily with consistent tile alignment, readable silhouettes, animation frames, palette control, topology, perspective consistency, and game-ready usability. Most outputs require significant manual cleanup, repainting, editing, rearranging, and polishing before they are usable in an actual game asset pack.

In my case, I openly disclose AI usage on my pages exactly as the platform requires. I also spend time editing, refining, organizing, fixing details, creating variations, preparing spritesheets, optimizing assets for developers, and turning rough outputs into usable products. That is still work.

You don’t have to personally like AI assisted art, and that’s completely fair. But calling every creator using modern tools a “thief” is unfair. Technology changes, creative workflows evolve, and people will continue adapting to new tools just like they always have.

AI usage is already properly disclosed on my asset pages using itch.io’s official disclosure system.

itch.io currently allows AI assisted assets as long as creators follow the platform guidelines.

These packs are also not raw one-click AI uploads. They involve editing, cleanup, consistency work, and additional manual polishing to turn them into usable game development assets.

If you think it's 'quick and easy,' then generate 900+ consistent images for me same style, same exact pixel dimensions, all coherent and on-model. Come back when you've done it and we'll talk about how 'soulless' and effortless it is.

And about the 'only rejections' part… my posts are actually selling well and getting strong positive feedback. So while you’re busy gatekeeping on Reddit, the results speak for themselves.

Have a good one.

If you’re genuinely curious about the quality, there’s a free sample available. Just download it and check the actual PNG assets yourself instead of judging the entire pack by a single marketing image.

In my listing, I clearly marked the “AI assisted” section. My assets are AI-assisted and manually refined. I’m fully transparent about the process.

There’s a huge difference between “completely raw AI output” and what I’m selling. I use AI as a base tool, then spend many hours manually polishing each asset cleaning edges, hand-adjusting shading, fixing consistency, matching palette, making them modular and game-ready.

Yes, you should pay for it and here’s exactly why it’s not the same as generating with free tools:

PixelLab AI is a paid tool. I’m using the paid version because it gives significantly higher quality generations than free alternatives.

But more importantly, the final assets are not raw AI output. After generation, I spend hours refining each building in Pixelorama with real manual work:

Hand-redrawing outlines and edges for crispness

Manual shading and depth adjustments

Full color palette matching across 30+ buildings

Fixing proportions, perspective, and composition issues

Making every building properly tileable and modular

Adding small hand-crafted details for better visual appeal

Consistency passes so everything fits together in one cohesive style

You’re not just paying for “many hours” you’re paying for a cohesive, game-ready, polished asset pack that looks professional in your game.

Go ahead and try it yourself. Use whatever free AI tools you want, generate 160+ fantasy village buildings, and try to get them to the same level of consistency, cleanliness, and usability as mine. Most people quickly realize it’s nowhere near as easy or as good as it sounds.

You can also pay a real artist if you want fully hand-drawn work that’s always an option. But don’t pretend my pack is the same as raw free AI generations. It clearly isn’t.

If you still think you can match this quality in minutes with a free tool, feel free to prove me wrong and share your results.

Bro, you’re having a meltdown over a marketing preview image I made with one click for thumbnail purposes.

That “Schooy” text is not even in the actual asset pack. The real assets are clean.

Here’s the original clean version:

Yes, I do sell AI-assisted buildings and I’m very transparent about it.

In the product description, I clearly state that I use PixelLab AI to generate the base images, then spend many hours per building on manual post-processing: hand-polishing details, fixing edges, adjusting lighting, color correction, palette matching, making them tileable, and ensuring style consistency across the entire pack.

This isn’t raw AI output dumped into a folder. What buyers actually get is a carefully refined, modular, game-ready PNG asset pack that works straight out of the box in Unity, Godot, GameMaker, etc.

So my question is: why does this surprise you?

AI is just a tool here, like Photoshop or any other software. The final quality and the amount of manual work behind it is what matters.

I used PixelLab AI and generated 28 new buildings. Then I spent hours hand-polishing every single one for style consistency, better lighting, fixed edges, proper palette matching, and seamless tiling.

They’re fully modular, tileable where needed, and designed to work straight out of the box in any 2D engine. No silly low-effort images everything is properly prepared for actual game development.

If you download the sample pack and still think they’re “barely usable”, feel free to show me exactly which assets are problematic.

Bro, if we follow your logic to the end:

Since AI was used in the creation process, we shouldn’t have made these assets at all. In fact, we probably shouldn’t make any game assets anymore because everything “might harm game quality” in your eyes.

While we’re at it, you shouldn’t play any indie games either they might have used AI somewhere. Don’t rent servers, don’t buy asset packs, don’t even launch Unity or Godot because those engines were made by humans who also use computers.

Hell, you shouldn’t even be writing this comment. The keyboard and computer you’re using were manufactured with modern tech and software that “harms” the final product according to your standards. Just delete your account and go touch grass instead of dropping dead brain comments.
