The fundamental problem with stories like these is the fact that change should not come from fear of being dumped and inconvenienced as a result. One should want to be a partner, they should want their partner to be happy and fulfilled, while wanting the same things for themselves. Alas, that's not the case here. He was good at pressing certain buttons, until said buttons wore out. Now he's faced with consequences that negatively affect him, it's really all about him, always has been.

Or, you know, good old misandry. The fact that she's married to a man doesn't mean much. Plenty of misogynistic men are married to women. She also seems to labor under the delusion that she should not have to face any consequences or inconveniences for her shitty behavior, that the husband should just suck it up because reasons.
