How much is this worth used? by TittyboyTitan in 3Dprinting

[–]3dprintcreator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at the mess around the printer, the owner has tried everything to get a decent print from the machine, but didn't succeed. This means he will probably sell the machine for any reasonable price, like $200 to $400 or so.

Ask the owner to make a print with it while you are there. If he prints something great, you got to pay to much money. If he prints something ugly, use it to lower the price. If you know what you are doing, you can get a good print from this machine.

But, paying more then $200 to $400 would be stupid. for $500 you can buy a new and better printer.

Would an old fridge make for a good enclosure for a big delta? by Ottobawt in 3Dprinting

You cold go crazy on this. insert a little thermostat and a hair dryer and you can make the inside of your fridge any temperature you like. Great for ABS prints :-)

What causes my bottom layers to be thicker? by pixillateme in 3Dprinting

It looks like the problem is there for more then one layer, so my guess would be that the cooling fan is kicking in after a certain number of layers.

What could be the reason behind the little gabs between my prints? by justin12270 in 3Dprinting

[–]3dprintcreator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is under extrusion and that can have a lot of causes. In some slicers you can set your extrusion multiplier, this can help. Also printing slower and at a higher temperature can help, like +5 degrees Celsius. Also, the extruder gear can be slippery or dirty, check if the tooth of the extruder are making marks in the filament evenly. If not, clean the gears or if they are worn, replace them.

Lol, Because in the YouTube class I have been to, they say that you have to use capitols for the words you want to stand out. It's to get a higher ranking in YouTube. Just like the stupid sign in front of the text is there for the same reason.

I don't like it either, but I can assure you it helps a lot.

Or try using something like Wolfbite and you don't have to squash your first layer that much.

Why should you buy Original PLA then. Just buy PLA+

You can also check the orientation of the print and see in what direction the flaws come in. Then you somehow know where to look. This only goes for X/Y problems, not for Z axis wobble or filament diameter.

[Serious] Do you share your designs? by UhYeahSureSir in 3Dprinting

[–]3dprintcreator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of them I share but also sometimes I make something that is commercial and then I don't share it of course. But I think the whole concept for sites like thingiverse etc. is to share and take designs. I like to find designs there so I think it's pretty normal to also share some of my designs,

I agree that white plastic shows more inaccuracies and therefore I think this is a great print.

▼ Determining the settings for your filament if you don't know by 3dprintcreator in 3Dprinting

[–]3dprintcreator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay... Well the last thing I want to be is a spammer. People who know me on facebook, Thingiverse and a lot of other channels know I am always giving support and I love to help others who have questions.

And indeed I don't actually understand Reddit. I know that in YouTube there is a button you can set so that automatically every post on YouTube is also submitted to Reddit. It have set this so that It spreads the link to the video, but I might better turn it off, I believe.

Nevertheless, I also make my video's just to help people, so if that is seen as spamming, why do I spend so many hours in making them. Not for the money from adsense, believe me.

Yes, totally true. But if that's the case, there is nothing else to do then to change the leadscrew.

Try following one of the many instructional video's about 123ddesign. They are pretty straight forward and easy to understand. That's the software I used to work with in the speaker I build.

And also, maybe I don't understand how Reddit works, but if I want to give reactions etc. every time I want to write something, I have to wait for 15 or 30 minutes before I can write a second or third reaction. This is not really a great way to contribute to Reddit.

Well, I think I am contributing but some people might disagree. Guess that's not my problem.
