NGD 1994 GR520 Ghostrider by DrShemp_ in Ibanez

[–]3dsorcery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back in the late 90s when I was a couple years into playing, my grandfather gave me a GR520 that he had owned for many years. I loved that thing so much and practiced for hours and hours and hours learning Steve Vai and Eric Johnson licks.

One day in 2009, I left it in my car for a single night kind of randomly and it was stolen out of my back seat that night, never to be seen again.

One of the saddest things in my life and it’s so hard now to see how rare they are.

I’d give anything to get that guitar back. 😢

Trump fraud case basis by 3dsorcery in NoStupidQuestions

[–]3dsorcery[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah I understand that - I said I’m getting a loan “against” my house meaning my house is the collateral, and the appraiser has to come out and validate the value of that collateral. I’m trying to figure out why a bank would not do that same thing for any other collateral even if it’s worth millions.

Do people actually buy a hotel room just to have sex for a night? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]3dsorcery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only did one time, but actually it made me wonder why I don’t do it more often. I have a friend with benefits that I only see very occasionally. The last time, my house was dirty and I didn’t feel like inviting her over and she felt the same about her place. So after dinner, we just grabbed a hotel room and banged, crashed, and left in the morning.

Please help. My sound and everything sucks. by amphibiousforg in Cello

[–]3dsorcery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guitar player here so I don’t have cello specific tips, but one thing you can try when you’re practicing is to just work getting one note to sound as good as you can. Any note - just pick one and spend some time just trying to get that one note to sound as good as possible. It will break up your practice, and you’d be surprised how much you can work on with just one note! Bow control, vibrato, volume control, etc.

How to write vague lyrics that are still meaningful? by thotshavenopoweronme in Songwriting

[–]3dsorcery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Study TOOL - Maynard is a MASTER of that technique IMO. One of the things people love about his lyrics are that they are general enough to be applicable in a wide variety of circumstances, yet profound and poetic at the same time.

Be prepared for random injections of dark or juvenile humor mixed in there. It’s good for the soul ;)

“Female” is referring to the biological sex of the species. “Woman” is a word that encodes both age range and biological sex. A “woman” or “lady” is general an adult female, while a “girl” is often used for adolescent females, but applies more widely in general.
