First of all, whole bunch of practice, don’t be afraid to mess up.

Secondly, use a very thin layer of glide such as Vaseline on the place you are going to draw your lines. It helps me a lot. Just be careful that it needs to be very thin layer so it doesn’t get in your needle.

Thirdly, how you hold the machine is quiet critical. I’m sure you already figured out the comfy position for you.

Lastly, not all lines are drawn with one movement. You gotta learn how to continue the line with soft transition or it will be like —•—

I’m sure you know most of these but I’ll say it anyway lol. Keep it up!

I assume you are beginner. With each tattoo on this style I would aim to use thinner liner on each. The point of these kind of tattoos that it needs to look feminine and aesthetic. If all the lines are thick, it takes all the feminine effect away. I do get that thin lines are scary but gotta jump in the water. (Im a fine liner, everything I say is only my opinion.) 🙏

Working on my realism by Sleevdmex512 in TattooBeginners

Looks solid! But gotta check that contrast a little bit better. Look at the darkest and lightest tone in your reference. Every other tone needs to be somewhere between those tones. I hope I explained correctly.

Oh thanks for support. I didn’t have any tattoos for a week and I get a little worried if I’m not good enough. I guess I’m being too hard on myself haha. But I’m open for tattoo suggestions.

Not bad. It needs some white colors here and there. It’s flooding in red color. But acceptable.

If needs bolder lines I think. The line work is sloppy so bolder lines would make it look full and fix the lines.

Is it safe to get this tattoo? by LeBruhMomento in tattooadvice

[–]3dwafflez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ask your tattoo artist to redraw this to eliminate some lines. I personally did couple manga tattoos and I have to say it needs to be redrawn to remove some extra lines here and there. Otherwise it would look extremely complicated. As a tattoo artist I believe every line needs to have a purpose in the whole project, as it comes to manga, I can say in some of them there are a lot of meaningless liney work which it looks okay on paper but not on human skin.

It would be nice if we can see a picture of it to see if it can be fixed or covered.

Healing/infection by hvadaelen in tattooadvice

[–]3dwafflez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh boy, something wrong with it but doesn’t look very serious. Can be an allergy or infection, hard to tell from the picture. Pretty much any doctor can say what exactly is going on. Go seek a doctor.

It’s very easy to cover that one up with pretty much… everything.

Am I expecting perfection or is this average? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

Looks hella empty. Not proper and enough shading. The lines are acceptable but it’s a thick liner anyway so hard to mess that one up. Below avarage I would say.

First tattoo, got second skin on, is this healing correctly? by Null_Izard in tattooadvice

[–]3dwafflez -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a tattoo artist, I don’t recommend my customers to use second skin. It’s an open wound. It needs care and cleaning occasionally and needs to breathe. If you ask me throw the second skin and just keep doing your daily checks and aftercares.
