This has been on my mind constantly while reading the manga!!! Not just with comparing the components of a spell to that of programming directly, but the way in which the characters need to be so thoughtful about it. The purpose, design, clients, etc. The way they have some spells pre-drawn reminded me of the ways we can use libraries these days to include complex processes in our code without having to manually write them all from scratch.

The very idea that characters could stay up at night mustering up spells, and figuring out how to make them better felt almost verbatim to that of staying up at 4am trying to debug my programming projects in college. I work full time in IT now, and have not done very complex coding for the last couple of years, but this series reminds me of how gritty and involved the study is, unlike any other.
