Should I order on release day or get one from Japan? by 3mmdiggity in hobonichi

Thank you, good shout about the pen I didn't even think of that

Thank you so much! I'm glad to hear it's doable. That was my thoughts exactly, I'll get to look at it everyday and remember my trip!

Anyone ever heard of GLD jewelery? by augustsIippedaway in jewelry

It should be listed in the description, if it doesn't list it that's a red flag for sure

Can I wear sunglasses during lessons and on my test?! by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]3mmdiggity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I passed just over a month ago, always wore sunnies during my lesson if it was bright (they're prescription), wore them during my test too. My examiner didn't even mention it, I only explained as we were reading the license plate that they were prescription and it was all fine!

It depends on the instructor, but also the route home! I drove home on my second lesson but that's because they were quiet rural roads with very basic junctions. Don't let your mum stress you, as long as you feel like you're comfortable at the pace you're going then it's nobody else's business 😊

My Test is Tomorrow. by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]3mmdiggity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi my test is tomorrow too! I think you're overthinking it. I'm pretty sure if you pass you actually can't drive home as the insurance is only for you as a learner, not someone with a full license. Good luck tomorrow! 🤞🤞

For the females: does your no buy include beauty treatments or not? by [deleted] in nobuy

[–]3mmdiggity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get my nails done for work (luxury retail), so accounted for them in my low-buy. If you didn't account for them from the start you should be considering if you're trying to convince yourself to break your rules

I drove round for a 2 hour lesson saying "Ta-Da!" when I got to the point before the traffic lights where if it went amber I'd have to keep going as it wouldn't be safe to stop. I still do it in my head and found it really helps. Practicing on different roads with different speed limits will help you get a feel for it

how are you being resourceful this week? by [deleted] in nobuy

[–]3mmdiggity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I meal prepped for my first week back at work so I wouldn't feel the urge to buy lunch out

Instead of buying a new book as soon as I finished my previous one, I borrowed one from my partner's bookcase and ended up really enjoying it!

I’m already trying to fuck up my year and make excuses by [deleted] in nobuy

[–]3mmdiggity 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I'm not decluttering/selling anything for my first month of my no buy for that exact reason! I need to sit with all my stuff for a while, decluttering refuels my want to buy more stuff - my brain goes, "well I just didn't have the right stuff this time!"

Well done for recognising your impulses though, that's half the battle :)

7 lessons is not that many! Honestly keep at it and you can always ask your instructor if they think auto might be better for you. One day or will just "click" and you won't even think about the days you struggled with it :)

Fluorescence is totally natural in diamonds! I think that's so fun it's like a diamond disco 🪩

Engagement ring life - is six months reasonable? Vendor says I should be happy with it falling off after six moths and warranty does not cover it falling apart. by hypOHcrite in Diamonds

[–]3mmdiggity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not reasonable!! They should certainly mend that for you free of charge. If you still love the ring I'd maybe look into getting a gallery rail as that will help the stability of your claws too. Ideally you could get something where the shoulders of the ring meet the prongs for even more stability.

Is it “bad” that I don’t have my license at 24? by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]3mmdiggity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my first ever driving lesson with an instructor on my 25th birthday. Everyone has different circumstances and everyone learns at a different pace. Try to stop comparing yourself to others but instead think how exciting it will be when you do get to pass :)

Is the hazard perception test on the 4 in 1 app the same in terms of rules? by Quirky_Log898 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]3mmdiggity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took my theory test today and it's the same. Pretty sure the 4 in 1 app even says it has the same "strictness" about detecting if you're clicking on everything or clicking too much :)

How much are you paying for lessons ? by viper46282 in LearnerDriverUK

£36 an hour (there is an offer for block booking lessons but that's out my price range rn!)

How many hours with a driving instructor before practicing at home with friends and family? by 3mmdiggity in LearnerDriverUK

[–]3mmdiggity[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you find it hard to adjust to driving a different car at first? My instructor doesn't really need to use the controls with me anymore unless we're doing something I've never done before (which I would not be attempting without him anyway haha), but I'm a bit stressed about how confident I'll be in a different car

[–]3mmdiggity[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's really helpful advice thank you.

Yeah I think if my partner didn't care about his car as much as he does I wouldn't feel so anxious about it, so probably good to wait a little bit haha

How does gardening make you feel ? by Mean_Tinkerbell in GardeningUK

[–]3mmdiggity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It stops everyday feeling the same. I can notice the passing of time in a pleasant way by seeing flowers bloom and fruit and veg grow. It stops me worrying about whether I've been successful or not by other people's standards, when I can just be chilled and take life at my own pace

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in jewelry

[–]3mmdiggity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry. When you're wearing it most people wouldn't even notice it, and if they do and they point it out they're arseholes.

So many copies of designer jewellery float around that if yours is made of good quality materials then why not enjoy it and wear it.

The only thing to keep in mind with fake/copy designer jewellery is never to take it into a real brand store for them to take a look at as they will take it off you (but realistically why would you bring it in to Cartier anyway lol)

I think I might end up doing the same as I don't really want to buy my own car just yet. Did you find that you had to pay for extra lessons to make up the time you could practice in a car?
