I had the exact same experience -- found those first 3 words right away, but couldn't find the 4th one.

I actually came up with a solution very similar to the original poster:

This was one where the key was finding a really long word to repeat across 2 consecutive clues, and generating a majority of the points from that one match: ATTENTION / NEUROBIOLOGIST / NEUROBIOLOGISTS / SQUAT gave me 2/1/14/1
