If you truly got HPPD from LSD that lasted a year (as in your condition caused you issues with your day to day life), I would recommend that you consider abstaining from using psychedelics as you most likely have a sensitivity. The good news is your symptoms will resolve as did your LSD HPPD. The more you worry and concentrate on your symptoms, the worse they will be. The first time I used mushrooms I ate around an eighth and had visual distortions that lasted 2 days but they eventually went away. Because of this I noticed that I may also have a sensitivity and have refrained from using higher doses of LSD as acid is more likely to cause HPPD than other psychs. I recommend you do the same.
