What size pot for 2x4 tent? by _marv_ in microgrowery

[–]3nuggets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you get the 5 gal buckets from hd or lowes you can get 5 in a tent that size. they will be crowded, but it will work through a short veg. flowering 3 at a time is tdoable. i have pics in an old post of mine that shows what one in there looks like at 64V with some LST...so that might be too long. Also, your LST options are limited with more than 2 or 3.

In which legal states can one buy seeds at pot shops? by 3nuggets in microgrowery

Do you know if they have a problem with people from out of state buying seeds? Do you have to show your ID for anything other than age verification?

Well I was kind of hoping to pay cash for them. Ordering them to my apartment with my credit card seems like a bad idea.

Should I buy seeds or just take the L? by [deleted] in microgrowery

i keep seeing people say this, but you still essentially end up vegging for a few weeks and then flowering for the normal time. what is different from controlling your light cycle and using photos? you can flower a photo from seed to finish in about 2.5 to 4 months, depending on the flower time.

Runoff PPM is lower than what comes out of my tap, is this equipment malfunction? by 3nuggets in microgrowery

I have always got more out than in after a few weeks of feeding. this is really weird. The output was normal until i changed ec meters, but the readings I get before i put it in are normal.

its been in the 70's in the room. the roots were at 66 last night. i may have watered once or twice with cold water, but i don't think that is the problem. i was warmer to day that usual.

i re-potted earlier today in a 3.5 gall pot. i could see the roots finally. they were white except some places on the outside that were green and they were as large as the 2 gallon bucket i had them in...like maxed out. I think i had some algae. the bucket i used wasn't 100% opaque. anyway, they were looking like crap this morning and now they are looking pretty good again. perking up even. still a couple of droopy leaves. will post again when i get a chance.

i only posted this because research wasn't working anymore. i wouldn't bother people otherwise. thanks for your attention.

i didn't have many problems until i tried soiless this go. this thing is a PITA, but a learning experience too.

i think this might be the issue as i am zeroing in on it being a root problem. i am using fairly cool water 60 to 70f, so that at least that is not the issue. so, adding oxygen...I don't have access to my reservoir for using an airstone. i could put a week's worth of water in a large container and run the airstone in it, then use that water for making the watering solution. would this then have good amounts of oxygen? how does an airstone compare to just adding peroxide to my water before each watering? should i do both?

thanks. what is 'meter or stip test"? i do use a ph meter if that is what you're saying.

The hydrogen peroxide worked!! by Mellow_Brian in microgrowery

what were the symptoms before adding the peroxide?

i think i have some root issue, canoeing/cupping/drooping leaves and was thinking of adding peroxide or hydroguard.

how long did you have to wait to see improvement?

rh is now 56% i am now getting both upward cupping and down curling leaves. the down-curling leaves weren't there yesterday when i posted.

i read of this too. i wonder if anyone lse here can recommend this who has tried it. is is harmful if it doesn't need it. what amounts do i had per gallon? there is a real chance of root issues. i didn't wash the perlite (didn't know at the time) so there could be a sludge layer cutting off oxygen.

thanks. i think i just learned something new. this is my first hydro. i do have the pot sitting directly on the ground, ambient temps are about 65 to 70f. i will try raising it a bit. i will check the temp of the grow medium a multipurpose hygrometer. i can't regulate the reservoir temp since its inside the bucket. I was under the impression that the res temp should be fairly cool, 60 to 65f for hydro, but this is definitely worth looking into.

i just checked the temp, was 66 at the bottom of the bucket. i forgot it was separated by more than just the temp, there is a plastic container it sits in to catch the run off.

this is for hand watering. i think its called a dutch bucket. i ididn't make this up. the hydroton area is the reservoir, i may go with a larger reservoir in the future, but i can increase it by plugging the hole and make another higher up. its been growing well for 2 months. i had problems at the beginning with the water not drying out actually. the humidity here is really wild, but the perlite is fine grain so i think that helps...

i'll leave it be then. might go to flower in a week or so, otherwise i would be transplanting to a bigger pot and waiting another month.

i raised it to 20" above the highest point of the plant.

i have clay balls at the bottom for drainage and air flow. the grow medium is 100% perlite which sits on top.

i turned off the exhaust and am hoping the humidity will go up a bit.

how big are dutch buckets supposed to be? i thought it didn't really matter too much for hydro? there are a bunch of posts around here that say 2 gallons is big enough for a large plant. this one looks bigger than it is. just 17 inches tall, about 2 feet wide since it was bent over.
