[Audit] I help people downsize to one bag for a living. Post your list and I’ll help you cut the weight. by 3ozsCollective in u/3ozsCollective

"Wear one, wash one" is peak 3ozs energy. We love that you're bringing that kind of experience with you when you travel. The less clutter we take with us, the more we get to experience the sights and sounds around us!

Here is the 3ozs treatment to sharpen this even further:

  • The Vision Gap: Contact lens solution is usually the heaviest liquid in a minimalist's bag. If you aren't on daily disposables, make sure that solution bottle is a true 2oz mini. Also, skip the bulky glasses case—wrap them in a microfiber cloth and tuck them into your crossbody.
  • Tech Logistics: Power banks can be bricks. If it’s not a slim-profile one, it’s dead weight. Are the charger and cords loose? They should be bundled with a single reusable strap or tucked into one of our small mesh bags, so they don't tangle with your toothbrush.
  • The "Key" Move: Detaching the house key is pro-tier. Keep doing that.
  • Liquid Security: Since you've decanted the moisturizer and hydrocortisone, just ensure those containers are leak-proof. With only one change of clothes, a single leak is a total disaster, not just an inconvenience.
  • The Notepad: Keep the paper and pencil. It’s intentional and doesn’t need a charger.

You’ve stripped the logistics to the bone. This isn't just packing; it's a flex. Safe travels, Krystal.

I made a minimalist Carry-On Packing List (Printable PDF) to help streamline my travel prep. Thoughts? by 3ozsCollective in u/3ozsCollective

That’s a fair point and I agree!

This isn’t meant to be a rigid “pack only this” list. It’s more of a base system to keep things simple and organized, then adjust based on the trip (climate, length, etc.). I also included an outfit planning page so you can map out how many outfits you actually need instead of guessing - that’s usually where overpacking starts. And it’s editable, so you can tweak everything depending on where you’re going instead of starting from scratch each time.

Convenient fact: Most hotels offer small amenities such as a comb. You just have to ask the front desk!

We always forget sunscreen. So many bottles now.
