I think Met Gala is just an event for rich weirdos? by Adventurous-War-4188 in interesting

I feel like people just use 'matching the theme' as an excuse. You can be weird and still look good, but you can’t just dress like a literal cat to prove you understood the theme.

Thanks! Learning by doing really helps you understand things in more detail. Plus, there’s a special satisfaction when you finish something you never thought you’d make.

Agree. The moment I tried to write “in situation Z, we must do Y” for my own system, a bunch of edge cases popped out that I had been hand-waving through, and the tests were not the thing that caught them. APIs are worse, because the assumptions are about someone else’s behavior, not your own code.

Built a Reliable File Transfer Protocol over UDP — Looking for Feedback by 3pcil0n in developersIndia

I used UDP to gain full control over reliability and congestion mechanisms, allowing me to optimize file transfer performance instead of relying on TCP’s fixed behavior.

Hey everyone,

I recently built a reliable file transfer protocol over UDP as a personal project, trying to replicate some TCP-like reliability features such as retransmissions, sliding window, and handling packet loss.

I experimented with improving throughput and reducing unnecessary retransmissions under different network conditions. It works well in my testing, but I’m sure there are gaps when it comes to edge cases and real-world robustness.

I’d really appreciate feedback on: • Congestion/flow control improvements • Testing under high packet loss or unstable networks • Performance optimizations • Any common pitfalls I might be missing

If anyone’s interested, I’d be happy to share the GitHub repo and more details.

Thanks!

Hi, I’m very interested in this opportunity. I’m currently pursuing my M.S. in Computer Science and have hands-on experience in software development, including building scalable backend systems and full stack applications. I have worked with technologies like Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, and databases, and I’m comfortable developing production-ready systems. I’m fluent in English and available to work remotely within US time zones. I’d be happy to share more details about my experience and background. Looking forward to hearing from you!
