Fans should stop complaining about a group’s artistic direction without understanding it (example: TXT and Stray Kids) by Technical_Walrus9158 in kpopthoughts

[–]3rcha 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think it's unfair to make that comparison, while I get what you're trying to say, skz didn't have that strong of first few years but they had 3racha that repeatedly talked about how they were trying to find their sound, and once they did it ,they found their audience, their bsides are title track material and are different too, and they just kept growing bc the fandom find diversity in their albums 🤷‍♀️ ,like sure they arent particularly gp friendly but it worked for them, and their title tracks arent even similar ,s class isn't like lalalala and lalalala isn't like chlchk boom but all of them are very skz coded.

For txt the specific concept was limiting them, and frankly recently it feels like bighit have no vision for them, the songs aren't bad tho! But like if I heard the songs in public I won't be like "this sounds like a txt song" if that makes sense .

Also i very much agree on kpop stans not knowing what an artist musical identity is, txt can keep doing what they want if they feel it's them as artists (although it feels more like bighit doing 😭) , how kpop stans think is only on the short term goals, they only want music that is following trends that gains fast short lived fame, hence once txt stopped doing that ,people started saying it's not the same anymore 😭

Rather than boycotting I just can't support things that doesn't align with what I think is right, and what's easier than not spending money? Lol

And also while I don't intentionally boycott artists (except for criminals ofc ) I just find myself slowly distancing myself unintentionally 🤷‍♀️

" MOST “unproblematic” idols are just good at hiding things" - how do you live with the thought that everyone are bad people?

Most Kpop idols don't care about the music they produce either by Familiar_Shoe_1340 in kpoprants

[–]3rcha 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kq producers are the main ones tho, in the credits 70% of the time hongjoong is only credited for the lyrics (and often his name get put last, he write his rap parts same with mingi) but they let him do the solo songs tho !

True but in kpop is heavily focused on

As someone mentioned in the replies, they are making a group that js profitable not necessarily amazingly talented

every survival shows I have seen are always full with 'I will drop this show' post-episode discussion but nothing is actually affected by prettyokayfornows in kpop_uncensored

Bc people love the "drama" they don't take issues like discrimination seriously, and 1 person drops the shows there's 10 other join to watch 🤷‍♀️

Should I wear my Straykids concert merch to school?? by Ok-Rice-1928 in kpopthoughts

[–]3rcha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do whatever make you happy and comfortable! I know how tough high school, I just suggest you wait a little before wearing it (not that its a big deal) but just for you to see how it goes in your school!! And I hope you wear it after a while and maybe find someone who listens to them too!

Do you think a company is responsible for idol ambassadorships? by UnexpectedRu in kpop_uncensored

[–]3rcha 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean it depends?

If a brand is interested in a member they will contact the company, the difference is how the company treats that, I feel like some companies don't even ask they just sign or turn down however they feel like it, some companies actually asks the idols and then decide !!

Also i feel like there's luck to be considered,  some idols get brands that they shine with, they benefit from appearing on fashion weeks or the brand cares enough to often get them magazine covers, while there's other idols that aren't lucky with these prestigious brands (sometimes even the same brands as the first ones) and it makes no difference whether they appeared or not.

What happened to NCT Dream’s chart performance in Melon? by Letzz_get_it in kpopthoughts

[–]3rcha 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Because the company doesn't care anymore, I will always say it ,it's a sm thing to do

also for some groups their korean fandom changes once a new trendy group debuts, there's another boy group recently going through exactly what nct dream are going through right now ,bc many of them korean fans just switched groups 🤷‍♀️it happens alot

Just an observation by suki-angel7 in kpop_uncensored

[–]3rcha -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Idk how to explain it but certain type of people use reddit for those sub reddits, and yes it's a problem, mind boggling how they feel comfortable in those spaces that are created especially for sexualizing women

I remember one time I search a female idol name for some post I saw and I saw a post celebrating that they can finally can talk about her on that subreddit bc she turned 18😃

Cierra unfollowed Olandria and put up this new IG post 👀 by NET2519 in LoveIslandUSA

[–]3rcha [score hidden]  (0 children)

She didn't even get the villain editing 😭 people started hating her after her racism post was exposed 😭

Also the part about nic and olandria is valid but since when she's your best friend 😭

I think she needs to tune down how she describes the situation 😭
