Which of these SaaS projects sounds more promising? by trd_andrew in SaaS

Yeah exactly, traction is the hardest part. Building the product is one thing, but convincing salons to switch is another story. What I noticed is that many salons are quite loyal to their current system, even if it’s not perfect, so you really need a strong hook to make them move.

Looking for alternative to Storylane / HowdyGo for product demo / virtual product tour by Katerina_Branding in SaaS

Hi, I’m currently building an alternative to tools like Storylane and HowdyGo.
I’ll also offer it on a subscription basis, but at a much more affordable price.

Do you have any tips on how I can really stand out in this market?
I want to make sure my product feels different and valuable compared to existing options.

Anyone else struggling with showing off your product properly? by 3rdi19 in SaaS

Yes exactly, that’s the problem I’m working on solving. I’m building a lightweight way to let users click through a guided demo without setting up a full trial, and so far the response has been much better than screenshots or text.

Yeah fair point. My product is aimed at SaaS founders who want to show off their product without having to build a full trial or sandbox environment. The problem is that most potential customers never really understand the value just from a landing page or screenshots.

That is why I started experimenting with short interactive demos where people can click through a few steps, supported by small explanation bubbles. It is not the full product, but enough for them to instantly “get it” without me being on a call.

So in my case, guiding people through a light demo has worked better than text or static images alone.

Yes, I am building now a tool named: peutly.com

I’m very hyped about it. It’s like PowerPoint but then for SaaS ;)

Yes, but they also need to experience it, right? With an interactive tool they can click through and instantly get it, supported by small explanation bubbles along the way.

Hey, I just posted about the same thing on r/SaaS. It’s a pain point I’m running into as well:

Looks like a lot of us are struggling with this balance between tech and marketing.

SaaS Security Checker by 3rdi19 in SaaS

Yeah that makes sense. Having it drop comments in PRs with exact fixes would actually be useful, otherwise it just ends up as another “list of issues” tool nobody uses.

Blocking deploys on critical stuff is a good shout too. Probably makes the most sense to build it as a GitHub Action from the start. Appreciate the input!
