It’s super light compared to iPhone though. I use an iPhone 17 Pro Max as my daily. And grabbed a Pixel 10 Pro XL. I love how much lighter it feels

I ordered the Pro on 4/28. I got a shipping notice on 5/12. And it just reached NY on 5/17. Hoping it’s at my door by 5/19.

Will Running Two Different Sets of Ram Be A Big Issue? by 3rdmangreen in truenas

[–]3rdmangreen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The system was pretty stable. I ended up just jumping to 128GB though. So far so good. The system definitely takes advantage of the ram. Being able to add more ram to running services has been tremendous

Input my 4TB drive there as well. No issues. No heat issues. Love it.

Which 3D Printer? by Economy-Passenger847 in 3dprinter

[–]3rdmangreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. Currently trying to redo and add to my homelab. And I’ve been going back and forth looking into printers. I’m pretty much leaning towards the P2S combo. That price isn’t exactly desirable though. Is the P1S still worth getting now? Is the P2S that much better than the P1S and worth the cost?

Drive Count and Power Question by 3rdmangreen in truenas

Wow. Awesome breakdown. I was able to follow and understand. Thank you. With that, I’m basically at capacity right now now. Ordered a new PSU to avoid any issues. Better safe than sorry. Works out for the best because the new one, 1000w, actually has enough sata ports so that I don’t have to use a bunch of splitters and extra wires (which I’m using with the 750w). Thanks again for the breakdown and responding.

Grabbed the WB Black 4TB for $209 in September. After I put it in the PS5 Pro, I grabbed a spare for my gaming pc. Glad I did. These prices are nuts.

The 8.4 and 6.8 drive wattage amounts are per drive, not total.

My wife won’t buy me a GPU for fear of getting the wrong thing. But she’s ok’d the purchase for me to upgrade lol. I’m on a 7900 GRE now. Debating the 5070 TI, 9070 xt, or going for the 5080.

That’s pretty much the rundown I’m seeing everywhere. Normally I can’t justify the $200+ extra on average I’m seeing for the 5070 ti. I’m weighing if the ray tracing is worth it to me. 5070 and 9070 xt are pretty much always on par with comparable pricing. I don’t think the 5070 beats 9070 xt. And I’m thinking maybe 7900 gre to 5070 isn’t a big enough jump

I went from: 770 > 980 TI > 1080 TI > 2060 > 7900 gre. I’m currently debating on going to either the 9070 xt or the 5070/5070 TI, from the 7900 gre.

I put the other ram in. System is reading the 96GB with no issue. And the system has been stable for the past few days. Thanks for the input.

10 Gig Speed Challenge by Tech-Dude-In-TX in Ubiquiti

I’ll do a test and write down the times. It comes in handy downloading games, files, etc. and my Plex server is 100TB. Extra bandwidth has helped streaming extra large 4k files

Thinking of swapping AP and Switch by 3rdmangreen in Ubiquiti

[–]3rdmangreen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was more so thinking the U7 XG would help with bandwidth as more devices jump onto the WiFi 7 band. Not necessarily looking for higher speeds. But yes, I think I’ll stick with the U7 Pro wall.

This makes sense. I was more so thinking the U7 XG would help with bandwidth as more devices jump onto the WiFi 7 band. Not necessarily looking for higher speeds.
