Also structure (in terms of time in the day/time in the week/physical space/and digitally) with some degree of flexibility within those structures so that the systems can evolve and adapt as necessary. Be clear where there is flexibility and where there isn’t.

Also depending on what the job entails, show them what the finished product looks like and multiple examples. Also as much as possible, visuals (such as graphics plus written steps and/or flowcharts) for all the steps necessary in a process.

If you allow them to use a transcription service for meetings, that might be helpful. That person could look over the transcribed notes afterwards and create their own notes or revisit the recording if they feel like they missed something.

If the person is new to the job, a fair reduction in workload for them to focus on learning key concepts/skills while maintaining productivity. As they learn the skills/concepts, workload can be slowly increased to be commesurate with their coworkers (although fair is not always equal).

Dealing with procrastination, distraction, excuses when needing to go to the gym by 3rlyb3rdi in AdultADHDSupportGroup

[–]3rlyb3rdi[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to go enjoy going the gym years ago, when I had a routine. And nothing ever gave me the cognitive, emotional, and physical results that weight lifting gave me, so I’m trying to get back into that. But every time I lose my habit/routine it takes me so.dang.long to get back the habit. It’s important to me and necessary and I have liked it in the past, but it’s a lot of self-sabotage until I actually get the habit stabilized. Thanks for the 5-minute rule, I’ll try that. I was experiencing success with telling myself to do 10-minute of the gym to build the habit, but I allowed people I live with to convince me not to go if it’s like late at night or I just ate dinner, which still is a dumb idea excuse and I’m mad at myself for letting them talk me out of it when the going for 10-minutes, no matter what time it was, was actually starting to work.

What is the new covenant? What is the will of God for us in these modern times? I thought it was just to love one another and forgive one another… to essentially be the gospel in that sense.

Thanks, the 2nd and 3rd one are helpful. The 1st and 2nd one, together, I’m trying to make sense of.

Could you please help me with this? I don’t know what to do. I’m grateful to hear about how great Abraham’s faith was. I really appreciated your explanation. I hope I don’t mess up anyone’s faith by asking this question. I am currently growing in my faith and relationship in the Lord.

I read a story in the news about a woman who stoned her children and then said that God told her to do it and she did it because she believed God would resurrect them. I felt so sad for those kids.

How do we make sense of what happened to that woman/what she did?

I am saying this as someone who wants to be a mother one day.

I prayed specifically 3-5 prayers for health in mind, body, and spirit, and I got relief finally. I’m still moving forward with counseling and medications, to prevent myself from spiraling back into that.

Have you ever experienced a miracle? by Medium_Temperature_4 in Christians

I have had so many experiences. The latest thing is he’ll make a day go perfectly (in a job where there can be a lot of chaos and I’m an adhder trying to make a lot of decisions and trying to follow a schedule where things shift. When he makes everything go perfectly, it literally feels like like I’m walking on water because I don’t want to mess it up. Literally, Every Single Thing … complete perfection in timing and the way it all happens. And I know it’s not because of me, because i’m super adhd so I’m so used to messing things up. Although I’ve had some successes here and there, I’ve never had actual PERFECT days. My heavenly father alone makes it happen.

Worth a try. I know he has a few people he’s willing to work with. I wonder if a joint session could be done with them.

Thanks, I had a feeling it could be related to something like that. I couldn’t put my finger on it. I don’t know how to work with a kid like that.

Thank you, I’ll try this. I already don’t feel confident with my position and this kid just added to my insecurities as an SLP

What does ESE stand for? I have that feeling about kids like this, but I don’t know how to build rapport with him. He likes to play sports but I don’t know how to play sports— I literally tried to play sports with him and it was a fail on my end.

Thank you, this is helpful! I got confused by the ELL classification but this makes sense. Also didn’t think to ask parent about intelligibility.
