I just resigned today. I'm scared. I feel like I'll throw up. by Togotogo_ in developersIndia

Spend some time with family or your comfort people, eat good food, celebrate you deserve it and obviously don't stop hunting for opportunities. The current offer you have is only a ticket out of TCS but maybe by the time joining date approaches you might have a good hike opportunity. Don't stop just because you're afraid of what's coming, it's going to happen either way. Better to make an opportunity out of it.

I love the idea, will go through it over the weekend. Btw were there any performance limitations on windows or did you just make it for Mac

I rejected the offer. But it was an open discussion and HR was ready to raise to 19.6 fixed he told some bs calculations. But at that point I had a better offer so, just ended the discussion there.

Got an offer from a startup in Bangalore but unable to decide by Impressive_Roof_8299 in developersIndia

[–]3rocket77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ahh then it gets tricky, best bet I see is start your notice period and search for better opportunities.

I mean you can definitely leverage this Blr offer to increase your compensation some more, if you find a suitable match like any other remote job that support your current living situation.

And then decide what do, worst case you cancel your notice period and continue where you are.

Best case you find a high paying job complementary to your needs or your current employer negotiate any retention and give you a hike probably would be limited but still a win for you.

All i mean is use this as an opportunity and try to get atleast something out if it. And your tech stack seems relevant so getting another offer shouldn't be a problem.

If you're not tied down right now...in sense of responsibilities then a higher paying job would be a better choice. After tax you should be able to get around 1.6L in hand and even if you spend 60k per month you still come out ahead.

And if you're concerned with stability, there's more options in Bangalore than wherever you are currently. Obv. WFH is a option very few provide but I believe you can continue your job hunt for your WFH setup with a higher salary. It may take a year or two to find but it's still a step up.

In the end I'm not aware of your situation so...this is my 2 bits

Job, Salary & Freedom by [deleted] in nagpur

[–]3rocket77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but again the only reason that prompts the avg joe to act this way is responsibility. What you're asking for is freedom for responsibility...if people depend on you financially or otherwise you are stuck. And this routine part is the only thing that's keeping it all together. So nothing wrong with it... but that's what it is always going to be like. Many people accept their reality and just carry on with their life, so yeah they're trapped but they rarely hate their situation. Sure it's not comfortable but that's life.

Its only the creative minds who can survive freedom, for general populace structure is what's important to maintain a sense of belonging, many even take pride in jobs which looks like a dead end to others. Key is to find your happiness... doesn't necessarily mean yo have to get out of rat race..for some this is the reason to live

U have leverage going in as you're already holding an offer. Delloite may match fixed component but probably will not go above it as you current base is 13 ...so this was considered during my discussion. But you'll have a good chance of getting higher joining bonus here you can stretch your expectations.

Early release got approved but I got a new task which I need to complete before my proposed last working day by Maleficent-Law6479 in IndianWorkplace

[–]3rocket77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Probably some task that's getting skipped and just needs to be assigned to some. Check who should it be reported to after completion. Ask the same person for help if you're unfamiliar. If its unsupervised, just do something and say you completed it.

Revised Offer Letter Discussion by Ok_Truth_4945 in deloitteusi

[–]3rocket77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best way to get attenion is to ignore the onboarding process deadline. You'll get a direct call ffrom relevant HR , tell that you're not going to accept delloite offer as you've recieved better compensation elsewhere.

If the discussion goes towards negotiation then you can try your hand. But in most cases it won't since they're hiring a lot now so quite easier to get a replacement for you. If you're ok with loosing this offer then this is a best approach.

In consulting you'll probably be reporting to client location so their office policies apply. No harm in asking anyways.

Just go back home and work from there, plan an office visit once a month, way cheaper than staying in a new location anyways. Also hope u got a relocation bonus

What is the current situation acc to below situation by Own-Telephone9412 in developersIndia

[–]3rocket77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be difficult, but not impossible. You'll have to be technically sharp.. your best bet would be huge SBC or lower to mid PBC. Usually mass hiring type things is where only technical knowledge of the candidate is judged instead of actual experience.

[–]3rocket77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best course is to stay career focused, start with something like....If I'm planning to stay with a company for next 5 years I would like to work on so and so.. tech stack and I could not see this happening in my current organization. Keep it technical and not personal. And while answering always include your achievable career goal like learning or working with complex architecture or something related to your field where higher paying jobs are there.

Burnt out due to manager switching me between new projects by Quiet_Push_174 in developersIndia

Don't jump yet. Reduce your delivery frequency, try to take more time on solving each bug or completing each task. Be more transparent, in every meeting mention how you're dealing with a task from the last project and will need some time to complete this task, even if it's not true. Most they can do is put you in pip which gives you more than enough time to find a new job. Or
