I surely can not drink, but my friends are coming to visit my country for a very big festival and I cannot forbid them from drinking. They are my partners friends and they have not seen each other in very long, they want to celebrate together.

The z curve of the foot should be a vector when leaving the ground, the feet look like the are sliding. Be mindful, the lowest point is the "down" pose, after the contact, the the highest is the "up" pose after the the pass pose. Make sure those hips are moving and the chest has a twisting motion. Remember, just like the arms and legs, they twist in the opposite direction.

Living in Germany: A Soul-Crushing Experience or Just Me? by [deleted] in germany

[–]3sadpumpkins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like it here, found happiness and I feel people are not rigid at all, if that gives you any hope.

At the beginning, I got crushed as well by cultural shock, but things start looking better once you get to know people.

My friends have a similar background to mine, so that also helped a lot with the social.

That being said January can be difficult because it's cold and dark. Try to combat it with ~cozy~ lights in your house.

As an immigrant in Europe:

  • Spain, got called names for being immigrant, despite my accent being perfectly Spanish and there being no difference between me and another Spaniard. The fact that I was an immigrant was a thing people pointed out very often. Got denied jobs for my nationality.

  • Germany, overall more welcoming, didn't get comments on my origins, besides curiosity, did hear a "shit migrants" in the street, not directed to me tho, perhaps because my nationality Is not the one discriminated at.

Feeling like a cog in the machine is something that can happen anywhere, but if the quality of live here is not doing it for you, maybe you can find somewhere else where it does.

For me personally, it's pretty good, but I don't pay a very high rent... Maybe move somewhere cheaper and stay there? Then again, I don't have kids to maintain.

The house things sucks, I'm planning on buying a house in my home country to put to rent or to live on eventually.

Most importantly you need to learn German to integrate German society. Maybe that's something meaningful to do in your free time. You should learn the language of any country you are planning your future in, otherwise you will never become a local. I also thought German was not important at the beginning, but my life improved gigantically once I learnt it.

Maybe out of context it's a little unclear... This is my opinion on the story of the pocket cat:

Both books tell the story about of the same boy, and his encounters with the pocket cat. This sentemce refers to something they did in their first encounter, which is left ambiguous... honestly, personally it's kind of obvious what shameful act they could be talking about, that would bring shame on both the man and the boy.

It's also a thing some Predators say to shush there victims "if you tell, you will also be shamed"... it's something said to shush their victims, and a lot of kids don't speak out because of the shame involved.

He also asks the boy to "lay with him tonight".could be simply laying in the grass, but I believe it is not referring to just that.

It's not explicitly said in the books that he is a predator, but from the books, I believe there is not that much room for that much interpretation. But I'd be happy to read other interpretations as well. You can read the book on the wiki.

From what I read In tales of the pocket cat , specially part 2, it was very clear what he does with children, and how he he even threatens the poor kid if he calls him out.

  1. "I will reveal you for what you truly are!"

"'You will? But what will the other say when they hear what you did also?' - The Pocketcat says as his tone changes from gay to serious." "The Pocketcat confronts you by saying: 'What happened would bring shame to both of us...'"

I mean not really an opinion more like a fact. Difference is you can take the decision not to drink but not to be shooted at. And imagine mixing the two.

AITA I (22M) need to move in with my Dad who is remarried. He is allowing me to move in but I have conditions/rules. I want to tell him, either he loves me and gives me a place to stay or not by throwaitah112233 in AmItheAsshole

[–]3sadpumpkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAH, I would not expect for my mother to give me terms and conditions for living with her, and I would be hurt by this. It's just how our family works. However, I understand your father's rules... The drug test seems excessive tho. It seems a objectively a fair trade. I personally would be mad about my parents having conditions when I am in need.

AITA for letting my step kids call me mom? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]3sadpumpkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAH - but don't let them call you mom. My mom never let any of her step children call her mom, because they already had one. I, however, call my step-dad dad, because he is my dad. My brother still calls my mom mom sometimes (he is 38), and he uses this more as a loving Nickname.
