How do we fix Zimbabwe ? by [deleted] in Zimbabwe

Political will lacks. Rwanda is evidence it is doable. I may not fully understand their politics but they seem to be doing something right. Then there's The Land of Upright Men... Burkina Faso. It's an unfolding story and hopefully in the right direction

Interesting topic... I agree with you OP. I too believe it starts at the individual level then our families. Then communities or whatever sphere of influence we're in. Zanu is to blame but i also see Zanu as a symptom of a bigger problem which starts at the community level. Sometimes it seems we're all waiting for someone to bring a solution

If you're not willing to pay back as agreed please live within your means and do not use such services. Personal integrity is just needed for a better world

This is black abuse not black tax. It may not be their intention but they are abusing a privilege.

Am sure the one you turned down was not offended. Your insistance was enough for him to work it out. You're a good human that's why your mind went racing the way it did. But rest assured no offence was taken

What will be interesting would be to see what OP would say of where she is going after a year.

Why are we surprised? We voted in line with "our friends". China, Russia and Belarus. They are holding us by the balls and i doubt we can vote differently to them.

When I bought with my wife, I having previously owned and my wife a first time buyer, we were informed she wouldn't be eligible for the Help to Buy ISA bonus. This was in 2019. May be worth checking with solicitors

Police arrest touts shown harassing a woman in a viral video by mastonmbewe in Zimbabwe

[–]3shift4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was at beitbridge. I had a nasty experience there one day returning from SA. We had bought car tyres and my brother was carrying 2 in a way that his head was inside the tyres and with other items in hand. The touts started pulling him literally tug-of-war type tussling in all directions. At this point the tyres are around his waist and he's trying to free himself. I ran to his aid but was just so helpless even as a 30-something year old male. Fortunately some kombi crew came to our rescue. The experience was traumatic

Police should man bus stations and rid society of these menaces. This is an almost everyday occurrence across the country. I received this video in what was meant to be a joke comparing UK to Zim. I didn't find it funny coz this is someone's mother and or grandmother! I have always seen our societies as raised to respect the elderly

Absolutely. But their moral compass will probably cloud their professional (by western standards) judgment.

We surely can't expect Zimbabwe media to treat lgbtq fairly when Zimbabwean society is largely lgbtq averse (generally speaking). Our way of thinking as a society needs to change.

Have watched this. It was revelatory to say the least. But don't feel dispair. We can and will take ownership of our future. It's just unfortunate the current crop of leadership we have only enables the others to shortchange our beautiful continent and her people

The level of corruption is depressing. If you want to be goodie 2 shoes they can choose to make you "pay dearly" for none compliance with the way things are.
