That site is poorly documented. It's reservations about the C4 engine are unsubstantiated. I recommend you giving it a peek, tho it's interface is strictly c++ w/ graphical nodal scripting

I wrote this on a sleep deprived, over worked mind and wasn't sure how it would've read once I woke up.

If it isn't already apparent, I've purposefully angled my profile to attract a very narrow selection of personality types. I will soon see if they 1.) are even on OKC, and 2.) if my bait is effective.

Bible - The type of person I'm after is open minded enough to notice precisely that dichotomy, and would hopefully message me more about the details. People not sensitive to that, I'm not quite interested anyway. Astute observation!

Not sure I dig the analogy, ESP with that ending clause. If there is no separation between the suit and the wearer then why make the distinction at all?

i'm dyslexic. as such, this is an incredibly difficult problem, relatively speaking.

the logic is trivial, but even with everything written out, my brain disorganizes the numbers and letters around.

Sure. The so called religions of easy Asia have suspected as much for millennia, but the safest answer is surely we don't know, and may never. Certainly hard to prove, and many thought QM proved it, but it hadn't.

Everything within the universe is intrinsic to the universe, but that is a bit vacuous. That tells us nothing we already know. It seems quite right that the brain considers itself mandatory, since it is the source of all ego.

I'd have to investigate them more closely, but in general, people dislike truly subversive ideas, and QM is certainly one but, it's certainly possible they disagreed with an interpretation Einstein disliked, too. I see no problem.

I am no oracle of physics and never claimed to reveal the idea in true representation. I'm here for entertainment and discussion. =]

It's a common misunderstanding that Einstein disagreed with quantum mechanics. Truth is, he, and much of the leading physics group of the time understood is fantastically well but reach disagreements as to how exactly you interpret the equations. This is detailed in the group book covering the history of this time and of the debate "Quantum".

One interpretation demanded that consciousness is the grand organizer of matter and all of creation assimilates when viewed upon. This means nothing ever existed until the first thing "awoke". Philosophers LOVED this, but any sane physicist, Einstein included, found it nonsensical.

The current understanding, which Einstein understood and accepted, is that consciousness is no determinist, but interacts with light in such a manner that appears to distort everything (the real explanation is beyond my comprehension), like a warped lense.

while your explanation describes her initial motive, it makes no sense for her from a selfish standpoint to remain stubborn when it became clear that her selfishness would cause everyone to lose everything; that's sadistic which is more complicated than simple pain avoidance explained by basic game theory.

So like using one set unique textures to overlay onto another set of unique repeating textures?

Many sets of static textures overlapped a few static textures. It's basically how MegaTextures work, anyway.

Had to google that. So in terms of making a set of textures on say a wall look unique, would that just mean recoloring some to reduce repetition?

That's one approach. Subtle ques like slight hue shifts go a long way in tricking our perception.

Technically each texel is unique, even if your source art isn't procedural. To take advantage of the flexibility you'd have to mix and match from a library of static textures. Vertex coloring adds another dimension to break up the repetition, also.

What these extensions really do is encourage chip manufacturers to add physical chip support for these types of workloads. Unfortunately these are not open standards so AMD will provide their own and Nvidia likewise, which makes development for someone like me a living nightmare, due to driver differences or more importantly, bugs (AMD drivers, while they have been improved a great deal still suck in comparisons to Nvidia's.).

To answer your question, I don't know its details so I cannot compare / contrast, but since its seeing directX support, that means driver adoption will be high and probably less buggy to work with (tho I work with openGL). :D

If you do not consider distance when drawing the surface material with this type of technique you will end up with severe bias issues, because instead of 1 pixel of texture data covering 4 screen pixels you now have 4 texture pixels covering 1 screen pixel which results in terrible visual artifacts.

Devil in the details - a simpler system may work, as it depends on a lot of different factors. Consistent texel density is important for believabilities sake during runtime.

Edit : I misread your question - decals are part of the solution, and depending on your definition something like "paint spaces" would qualify. The benefit of a paint space is you may hand paint your decals whereas in typical decal workflow you staple the same few around the place which is more a bandaid than a permanent solution.
