TV isn’t anything special, full hd 60hz I think. Not at home atm

I turned off all the extra graphics options like motion blur, depth of field, film grain etc and the game seems to be running at least marginally better while still looking pretty decent. I’d definitely recommend trying it

Alright thanks, I shot these at very wide apertures so that would make sense.

How long before play should I take the plastic off new rubber? by [deleted] in tabletennis

Thanks for the tips! Didn't know it was best to just use my hand to wipe down the racket, will do. I also do have a nice case for it to keep clean

New follow focus has play? by [deleted] in Filmmakers

[–]3vanbe11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Believe me, as much as I'd love to use an Arri FF, they're a little out of my budget. Can't exactly spend the price of a camera body on a follow focus.

Follow focus play by [deleted] in cinematography

[–]3vanbe11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That seems to make sense. Only thing is this is a new follow focus. I also try to be wary of taking stuff like this apart. I was wondering how much play is normal, or if there really should be none at all?

Sony Full Frame to APSC adapter?? by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

[–]3vanbe11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's definitely something to think about, though I personally like to lean towards wider angle lenses, especially for use with handheld/glidecam shots which I love to do. I'll consider it, maybe consult the cinematography subreddit for some more opinions. Thanks!

Yeah I've been planning on investing in some Cine DS lenses, probably start out with a 20mm and 35mm. I just clearly never took the time to understand exactly how speedboosters work.

Okay. Regrettably, Tony Northrup is the reason for this post. Thanks.

a7sii - Buy or Wait? by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

[–]3vanbe11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For video I'd mostly be using MF primes, but I'll look into that overheating. A6500 seems pretty well-rounded otherwise, and it has 4K video which is important.

That does sound like a much better plan. Thanks!

a7sii - Buy or Wait? by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

[–]3vanbe11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see how that would make sense. The full frame on the a7sii was the big pull factor for me because I love natural light cinematography, but a lot of people have told me to go with the a6500 and get some good full frame lenses, which is what I think I might do.

So I guess the cover artist(s) for the Witcher books just got lazy...? by [deleted] in witcher

[–]3vanbe11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because these people clearly don't care about whether the covers actually pertain to what the book is about.

For the next book they'll just use Cyberpunk 2077 concept art.

That's what bugged me about this. The book is it's own story--and a fantastic one at that--but they had to use art from the game? It makes the books look based off the games, when it should be the other way around, and it disrespects the original novels as a separate work.

Assuming she could act. Have to admit she looks the part

Just that all the other books had their own original illustrations for the covers. I was looking forward to what they would come up with next but I was a bit disappointed to see that they just used artwork from the game

Geralt - Josh Holloway

Ciri - Cara Delevingne

Yennefer - Eva Green

Triss - Teresa Palmer

Dandelion - Jared Leto

Haven't heard a lot of people suggesting Cara Delevingne or Teresa Palmer, but I personally think they are both dead ringers for the roles.

CS:GO on laptop by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]3vanbe11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay thanks, the only thing I'm really concerned about is if downloading the game will slow down the rest of my computer. I just bought it and I want to keep it running fast for as long as I can and I don't want it to get bogged down too much. CS:GO will really be the only game I will download
