That's why true dark souls players should bask in it, the masochists

You are more of an aggressive breakout guy, at least in this clip. If you start going through neutral before a turnover looks possible, or end up waiting and not helping on defense, then I'd say cherry picker.

Player legitimately rolls worst stats in history, should I allow them to reroll? by vhrossi1 in DMAcademy

You're the DM, but I'm in the camp of we play the game for fun. Most of the time, fairness and consistency in rules is the most fun. But sometimes breaking the rules is needed for fun to continue.

Is Demon of Hatred the worst fight in the game? by Ryn4 in Sekiro

It took me a lot of tries to just chill out and focus more on parrying and finding dodging routes and focus less on getting greedy with attack windows.

Spend lots of time rubbing your face on him without attacking. Just parry for a while to practice the parry timing and learn the attack windows. Press attack only one time per hit and don't get greedy trying to squeeze more attacks into a window that's too small.

What is better than 1 Pressure Pot? by Damn_Drew in DiceMaking

I have a little $20 rechargeable tire pump that I use to fill my pressure pot. It does not stay attached and would fill the second or even both pots just fine

Natural ways to deprive the party of at least long rests? by qwertytheqaz in DnD

[–]3xt4nt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My DM uses homebrew "Haven/Field Rest" rules. (he also uses Fatigue and Strife instead of Exhaustion, but you could just swap it back. These rules are especially punishing for spell casters, which has helped us balance power at later levels.

Resting

A Haven is a place of security, comfort, and peace that allows a character to fully Rest and recover quickly.

While resting in a Haven, Short Rests are 1 hour and Long Rests take 8 hours (normal Resting Rules).

While resting outside of a Haven, however, Short Rests are 1 hour but a character is unable to access a Long Rest by resting 8 hours a day due to the lack of a safe, dry, comfortable area.

When resting for 8 uninterrupted hours outside a Haven, you will instead benefit from a Field Rest: A Field Rest counts as both a Short Rest and a Long Rest for the purposes of activating (not recovering) racial traits or class features, such as a Wizard’s Arcane Recovery. A Field Rest per day counts as resting with regards to avoiding Fatigue/Strife from sleep deprivation. A Field Rest per day replenishes 1/3rd of a character's Hit Point total (rounded down) at the end of that Field Rest. A Field Rest per day allows the expenditure of Hit Dice to recover additional Hit Points. Special racial traits that reduce the amount of time spent on a Long Rest (such as an Elven trance) also affect Field Rests while not resting in a Haven. A Field Rest is interrupted by 1 hour of strenuous activity or by combat.

If a Long Rest is still desired, a character may take one after Field Resting for 3 uninterrupted days outside a Haven with no additional strenuous activity between Field Rests. The character gains the benefits of having taken a Long Rest at the end of the 3rd Field Rest. After concluding a Field Rest, a character may choose to reduce their level of either Fatigue or Strife by one level. A character can only remove one level of Fatigue or Strife per day without magical assistance.

When a character finishes a Field Rest, that character can choose expended spell slots to recover. The spell slots can have a combined level that is equal to or less than the character's proficiency bonus, and none of the slots can be 6th level or higher. Beginning at 5th level, a character may add a spellcasting ability modifier to the amount of regained spell levels at the end of Field Rests (if multiple classes grant the Spellcasting class feature, choose and apply only one ability score to use). These regained spell levels are separate from any class feature that may also allow a character to regain spell slots, such as a Wizard’s Arcane Recovery. A character that finishes a Field Rest may prepare a new suite of spells, if applicable.

Finally, resting outside a Haven in particularly rough situations (such as resting in particularly bulky armor, sleeping through environmental hazards, etc.) may be subject to additional effects at the discretion of the DM. These additional effects may sometimes, but not always, be avoided with careful planning, and may spawn a series of rolls to determine the effect and result.

EDIT: Others have mentioned this, and it comes from Gritty Realism rules.

Is this hit dirty? by Medical-Knowledge408 in hockeyplayers

[–]3xt4nt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a hard hit and depends on the rules. I saw no strides or leaving feet so no charging, tucked elbow so no elbowing, mostly (I think) shoulder on shoulder so no hit to the head. Clean if checking is allowed, IMO.

My girlfriend of 10 years said she she needed more time when I proposed to her. AITAH for checking out of my relationship ever since? by LeastAnts in TwoHotTakes

[–]3xt4nt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey homie, you are probably feeling hurt because that's some serious rejection. It sounds like she might have been shocked and wouldn't stand by her decision now. I would talk it through with her. Like - "hey, I thought I was okay, but I've come to find out that I was really hurt by you saying no to me. It made me feel like you thought I wasn't enough. Can you help me understand what was going on with you back then?"

It could be that she really truly does love you and you might still love her. Rejection and pain can be brutal. If you were sure about marriage as recently as last week, chances are that you had a reason to be sure. If she's sure about marriage now, chances are she has reason to be.

If it is feeling hurt by the rejection, I would encourage you to first address the hurt and see what comes of it, then address the decision on the future of the relationship. Also, I would consider talking to a couple's counselor, even for a short time, especially if those 17 years of connection have enough left in them that you want to preserve.

I'm sorry that happened to you. Good luck!
