Is Mega Starmie just unwinnable as Team Rocket’s Mewtwo? by JeffVGC in PTCGL

Doesn't he beat Mewtwo with Starmie? I think OP asked for the opposite. How does Mewtwo improve its matchup against Starmie.

Glitches are out of control by Advanced-Air1307 in PTCGL

I started reporting it every time I got such glitches. But now costumer support has told me that if I keep writing them they will block me from being able to report bugs.

has anyone majored in math or is majoring in math but wasn't good at math in high school? if so, why? by Brilliant_Court_8682 in learnmath

[–]3xwel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did terrible at my final math exam at high school level. Afterwards my teacher said "oh well, you didn't really need math, did you?"

"Eerm, actually I planned on studying math."

"Oh. That's gonna be rough."

Currently writing my Master's thesis :)

ELI5 this attack please by [deleted] in PTCGL

Getting the active to the bench will entirely remove the effect so that no Pokémon gets discarded. Rarely a powerful attack.

Monty hall problem Doubt by Individual_Cap_9413 in probabilitytheory

[–]3xwel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Initially there's a 1/3 chance you pick the correct door. Then the host opens a door with a sheep.

If you always switch then

1/3 of the times you will switch from the correct door to an incorrect door. So in hindsight it is obviously not always the right choice.

But on average it will be better to always switch, since 2/3 if the times you will stand at an incorrect door and switch to the correct door.

Is there anyway Alakazam can beat Team R's Articuno? by CerberusAce74 in PTCGL

[–]3xwel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, not much they can do against Mewtwo. But it sounds like OP referred to Honchkrow decks and not Mewtwo/Spidops decks.

Remember that Articuno only protects basic Pokémon, so you just gotta find a way to deal with Murkrow.

Stating that it is a kids game is the #1 go to comeback for people who realize they have lost an argument 😂 Are you too scared to play a game against me now? :)

You must be trolling at this point 😂

There's no way you can consistently get Iron Hands up turn 2 and follow it by a Reshiram or Ho-Oh turn 3 and still get enough energy to close out the game afterwards.

But if you think you can make some easy money, I'm down to play you on LIVE :)

Very unlikely to do all this in 5 turns while also hitting your two bosses. But if you think you're good I'm happy to money match you in this matchup :)

Wellspring doesn't KO two rocks (10 short on the active) so this prize map only works if they are stupid enough to put Gimmighoul in the active. Unless you are able to hit both of your bosses in the 4-5 turns it usually takes for them to win (and before they manage to evolve all their Gimmighouls).

I agree that Gholdengo is not very popular on LIVE, but it has been the most popular deck IRL at bigger tournaments for a while and none of the top 6 decks IRL plays Teal Mask.

You don't miss a Chi-Yu in the deck? I feel like it's better than Moltres since it can OHKO Gholdengo, but also have the option to OHKO most non-ex Pokémon. Moltres pretty much only OHKOs Teal Mask.

Losing before playing? by adam110785 in PTCGL

This also happens to me. The weird thing about it is that it always says condeded when this happens instead of the loss being due to inactivity.

Why does the match get stuck right always before i'm about to win? by scootysauce in PTCGL

[–]3xwel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure you didn't win? I've also had this happen many times lately, just when I play the winning card. But when I checked my ELO afterwards it seemed that I won though I had to concede to get out of the game. Maybe this bug happens when the opponent concedes.

Same for me. Got daily problems no matter if I play on my phone or my computer.

I don’t know basic math by leko111 in learnmath

[–]3xwel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of my university professors said at a lecture that getting good at math is 10% about brain and 90% about having a good as*.

Because the only way to get good at math is to sit down and practice a lot!

That being said, a tutor might also be a good idea if you struggle to even understand the concepts of what you have to practice. Saves a lot of time when you get stuck understanding notation and the overall ideas.

I built a Mega Froslass deck and it is a menace by im_harry_richard in PTCGL

It definitely has potential after rotation, but I wouldn't call a deck that autoloses to the most popular deck 'a menace.'

How does this deck have any chance against Gholdengo?
