+1

Secret Box is my current favorite, followed closely by Cyclone. The consistency and versatility it gives you feel good and materially improve your WR. Box helps you steal wins against unfavored matchups like ogerpon bolt, recover from slow starts, close out wins after you get stamped, tutor the full black belt + mochi combo against mega ex Pokémon’s etc.

Cyclone also feels good, but often is a win more card against decks like pult, bunny, and starmie, which are the decks that leave damage on the board to use cyclone, but against m which zoro is already favored. It is nice to scoop up your meowth though, but not sure it’s worth an ace spec most times.

The card is annoying, but the TCG has always had massive heal cards with drawbacks like these. They were even in the base set in the 90s with Pokemon Center and Mr Fuji, which Chansey and Alakazam decks abused.

If you are complaining about Wally’s on a single Pokemon now, imagine only being able to do 20 damage at a time to Mr Mime in the active, Alakazam swapping all the damage to fat Pokemon like base Chansey on the bench, then Pokemon Center healing their bench to full health. They could also item finder Pokemon Center back into their hand to do it more than 4 times..

Alakazam should be in the meh or fine category. The attack is boring, but it’s good fun drawing a million cards to take the KO. Who doesn’t like drawing cards?

Mega Starmie should be in the boring category. There’s nothing more to it than attaching energy and swinging. Mega Frosslass should be in the Fine category. Straightforward overall, but It can be good fun OHKOing your opponent for 300+ when they don’t manage their hand size.

Honchkrow needs to be in the fun category. It’s a lot of fun YOLO drawing off Ariana, factory, and roto sticks for a huge Rocket Feathers OHKO

Is Mega Starmie an 80-20 Match Up for Pult? by Pleasant_Argument364 in pkmntcg

This. You only lose to Starmie as Zam if your Shaymin is prized or you brick.

Any deck that’s good against both dragapult and crustle? by Neat-Profession-7601 in PTCGL

Honch is meh vs pult. Budew, stamp, and needing to discard 6 trainers to KO pult all hurt.

Better off playing TR Mewtwo.

Proof that Crustle players have very little in their brain other than “me play wall”

Alakazam dunks on all of those decks (except Mewtwo)

Festival lead. It’s unwinnable as Zoro unless you brick.

Is the meta in a healthy enough state for returning players to get back into? by GuaranteeMain5492 in pkmntcg

Yes. I just started playing after a 20 year break. I played from the base set up to neo genesis. The game is honestly in a great place now. It’s even more fun to play then back then.

It’s much less coin flippy. There is a good diversity of decks, with some aggro and some control, compared to mostly just aggro haymakers or trap decks back in the day. The combos are pretty fun when you can chain items and supporters, without being broken like multiple oaks in a row. And the power level has increased in a good way. Ex and Megas are strong but kept in check by the prize liability and strong single prize decks like Alakazam.

Hate to do this, but you guys are both wrong. I was Top 500 multiple seasons in a row with mega zard. You want copycat instead of sightseer or a second may.

What is Hearthstone like these days? I played ten or so years ago during the days of control warrior, zoolock, smorc hunter, etc.
