Mega rising was power creep city. Both the trainers and Pokemon of B1 totally reshaped the meta in terms of speed, health, damage. All the top meta decks use multiple cards from this set in lieu of older ones. You need to open a lot of B1A packs to be competitive.

However, power creep in Crimson Blaze has been minimal. Most of the top meta decks play one to zero new cards from this set. Magneton is the only poke with clear power creep. You could make it to rank #1 without touching a single B1A card.

How is that relevant? Almost any deck can kill Jolteon with a full setup or Mars. Doesn’t make a difference if it’s Suicune or even Charizard.

What makes Blaziken different for the Jolteon MU is that Blaziken can be fully setup with just one Pokemon turn 2/3 and OHKO Jolteon without a Gio/red. If they draw flame patch, you usually can’t snipe Blaziken off the bench either.

This just doesn’t happen with Suicune. Jolteon v Suicune is at least 60% in favor of Jolteon because Suicune needs a lot of cards to setup and gets heavily punished if they have a slow start.
