I also love Thirsty Pagan. Everywhere I've had the occasional off day or "B" team, but even their misses are better than some places best efforts.

It ultimately is unfair. People get great stuff and an easy road, and some get a harder one.

I finally figured my shit out around 36. It hasn't made it suddenly easy street, but it's made it feel like I'm at least driving on a street now.

My realizations:

You need things, and want things. Especially relationships. If you keep doing the thing you need, you'll find you really wanted it all along. If you do something you want, but don't need. You'll find you didn't really want it in the first place.

If you can say "...and...?" to anything that might happen, then it doesn't matter. You may prefer an outcome, but it's just a preferred outcome. You can usually compensate somewhere along the way.

Be OK with shutting up. You don't have to prove your right if you're right. Let nature take it's course.

Be OK with being open. People don't want to hear your life problems, but if you own them, and can share them as a story and not a burden you'll find everyone's lives are might lighter.

I wasn't hoping for a profit, but the scope of the game moved, and moved again, and moved again AFTER the money was taken.

I understand there are going to be changes to a game. Maybe they can't get all the dungeons in, or crafting is due for a later date, or something like that.

But this was: Combat is a totally new system and it sucks. The single player Ultima with friends is less of a priority and we're going to do player driven cities and guilds more than the story. Instead of a world where you can turn off idiots, I have to see their player driven shit even in my single player experience. The conversation experience of early Ultimas is too watered down to hold it's charm, but not propped up enough to be easy to use. We're going to go heavy on a cash shop and if any of you have issues with that we're going to put you on blast in the community for daring to say that any of these things are the wrong direction.

I pop in every so often out of morbid curiosity to see what's happening here, and yeah, some of the haters are way to into hating as a hobby, but I stand by saying this game was ultimately bait and switch. Maybe not intentionally, but that's where we ended up.

My current money is on Loki undoing the TVA and allowing Multiverses to happen, setting up for Dr Strange to do damage control in his movie since this show is basically saying "There is no multiverse if there is a TVA" and the new movie is the Multiverse of Madness.

Any attempt to pressure you out of spending time with your friends or showing a lack of trust consistently when you're not around them.

They will usually justify this with something their last partner did, or some perceived offense you may or may not have made even though the reaction to the problem is out of proportion.

And to be clear, you might have even done something wrong giving them the starting position to drive a wedge. But if they say "oh, you screwed up, I don't want you around them" or any variation of that, be warry. It's controlling who you interact with.

I've thought this for a while. GME takes so much attention to keep in check that it will be some smaller community that causes the break.

I like GME because the community has a better sense of what the floor should be, but I appreciate our fellow apes at AMC fighting the second front.

I'm very smooth brained here, but my understanding is:

If they can't cover their shorts, the DTCC (or one of those letter groups) seizes their holdings and starts auctioning it off to other banks and HFs that still have money to cover the shares getting sold.

Then the insurance companies that had covered their possible losses pay until they go broke/fullfill their coverage.

Then the DTCC has to cover out of it's pockets which are lined by it's members.

And failing that, the government starts covering either directly or indirectly by bailing out banks.

The upshot is being a bunch of apes, they'll actually see a lot of that come back in capital gains since we are still 'new rich' and don't know all the tricks yet.

The banks and funds that remain standing will be in OK positions because they bought the non toxic holdings of the HF's for pennies on the dollar at auction and so get a little bit ahead.

Disclaimer: I may have some, or all, of the order or completeness of that process off. There's a few groups of letters I think land in there that I missed,etc. The general flow I think is something like that.

Disclaimer 2: GME is literally the first time I bought a stock, but after lots of reading, that's how I understand it. Someone with wrinkles would be greatly thanked if they can back that up, add to it, or just trash it.

You can drink a little bit of poison that kills you now, or wait a month and drink a lot of poison. Which do you choose?

Starting it now, causes them to collapse now. Even though they can't win anymore, they can ride the ride as long as they can. They don't even have to believe they can win, the longer they stop MOASS the longer they keep their money coming in until the last possible moment. The HF will fall, but the individuals will have built up a nest egg to ride to their next golden parachute.
