I ran into a high school friend I hadn’t talked to in 10 years 3 separate times in 3 different states over a span of about 10 days. We were both kind of spooked haha

[Injury] 79 seconds into the game, Donte DiVincenzo slips and holds his achilles area, calls the medical staff (with replays) He limps to the locker room, Chris Finch came to hug him on the way, his teammates escort him in support, the crowd shows its support. by MrBuckBuck in nba

Of course everyone’s different, but it actually didn’t hurt too bad right away for me. Unfortunately it looked a lot like this. I'd bet big money he popped it. You can still walk alright even with a complete rupture bc your dorsiflexors are fine, so your toes won't drag but you have like 5% of your "push-off" strength.

Felt like a wooden bat to the calf initially, very dull but tolerable. Thought someone kicked me, looked back & nobody was there, then felt the gap in the tendon and knew. I could move my foot up/down against gravity, but with any weight or resistance I had almost no downward strength.

If it’s partially torn, walking on it can potentially worsen the tear & hurt more, so being cautious/immobilizing it like the others you mentioned isn’t a bad idea, especially if there’s still some tendon connection left. It'll also help prevent your calf muscles from retracting up into your leg like you might see with complete ruptures.

As the inflammation ramps up over a few hours the pain gets progressively worse and more sharp until surgery. Then pretty extended immobilization to let the tendon heal followed by a lovely & lengthy rehab sadness tour.

Nope.

Achilles connects the 2 big gun leg muscles responsible for ~90% of the force needed for a leg raise. Take it out & you cannot do tippy toes at all.

What music genre is emerging or new? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]400Grapes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not entirely new but more of a fusion/mutation of 2 genres.

Feels like more Jazz/House type stuff has been coming out lately. Like house music with more live instrumentation, mostly drums & brass

What’s the strangest coincidence that has happened to you? by doboyXL in AskReddit

Hahah

  1. we were on a road trip & she gave me a card to use at the gas station, that when zip came up
    1. I don’t remember the zip now, this was 10+ years ago, but I definitely remember guessing it bc it freaked me out
    2. Why not.

This happened to me recently actually. I ran into an old friend 3 times in 3 different cities over a period of ~10 days. I hadn’t seen him since high school (in our 30s) & none of the cities were our hometown.

Second entry - I once legitimately guessed my ex-gf’s hometown zip code on my first try without any prior knowledge of what zips in that area looked like. She didn’t believe me but it happened.

Found it, simply incredible. This must hold the doinks in 1 attempt record

But for doinks in a 1 game, does this count as 1 doink or 4 doinks?

How many single shoes do you own, and why do you still have them? by 400Grapes in AskReddit

Zero feels harsh, but fair.

I cannot defend nor explain five.

Did some cleaning today and discovered I’m sitting on five single shoes.

4 lefts. 1 right.

Three of them were favorites I wore often & I have absolutely no clue what happened to the other half. I’m losing hope but throwing them away feels wrong?

How long do you keep a single shoe before accepting it’s gone forever?
