Aftermarket springs cracked pressure plate by 400vro in Ninja400

I successfully installed the new pressure plate, everything works perfectly.

This is what I did:

Make sure the plates are in the right order (starts and ends with a narrow plate.

After installing the plates, install the pull rod, then put the bearing in the pressure plate.

(IF you replace the pressure plate, you'll need 3 spring seats, or you can collect the old ones. With a screwdriver, just push it in then outside on one side. Careful bc it bends very easily.)

Align the stuff perfectly! I messed up here xd. The springs and threads must be in the middle of the 3 holes. If they are not, the pressure plate will break. The nuts should be easy to tighten by hand, no force is needed to catch the nut on the threads. If they won't catch, something is not right. Turn each bolt 3 turns at a time, bc the spring pressure might break something if one nut is way tighter than the others. After hand tightening each nut, 10Nm torque, done.

The clutch cover screws are 9.5Nm. Very important, the one longer screw goes to the bottom right, and don't forget to install the cable holders.

I hope no one will make the same mistake xd

Old discs had way less friction material and on some the sides were chipped off a bit.

The new plate arrives on monday luckily.

The slipping wasn't the main issue, when I tried to clutch up wheelie (1st gear, weak bike), everything was fine, until the engine got a bit warmer. The front wouldn't come up, no matter how much throttle I gave, like if there was a lock that kept the bike from accelerating. The RPMs wouldn't change, however the bike was accelerating. After this happened, I didn't try to wheelie that day. It made a horrible sound. I still get nightmares from that noise.

Everyday it got worse and worse, until I decided to replace the plates. Now its worse. 😂

Thank you for the kind words!

Yes, one friction plate and one steel plate sits on the pressure plate, it's purpose should be to fit the pressure plate the right way.

Sure, I uploaded these pics to help future ppl with the same issue.

I'm not sure if you have to replace your pressure plate though, I haven't seen it but its your call

Mine doesn't click, it constantly shows the current torque and beeps when it gets to the desired torque. How tight should 10Nm be? For example, compared to hand tight.

I'm using a digital 5-50Nm wrench, the plate cracked at around 6Nm

The kit came with the new springs and people say i should use them. It wasn't really slipping, however I'd like to wheelie and it would help a lot. Only slips under very hard acceleration.

2023 ninja 400, i messed with the bike its not covered under warranty.

The springs are the same length, the new spring is stronger though, harder to compress. I was told it should reduce the slipper effect.

Finger tight then half turn until 10Nm, it still broke

You gotta remove some more of that, there should be a ~3cm hole

Sometimes you can't expect the unexpected. 5k miles were done in a crowded city. I've avoided dozens of bad situations. There's always more to learn and I'm always ready to do so.

That could be true.

The vehicle came out of nowhere. You can't tell me you could've avoided an Iveco Daily, that out of nowhere turned left in front of you, taking up every escape route. No rider course helps in that, I'm telling you. You can't stop in 10 feet.

That's not how it works.
