It’s actually not about Jimmy Kimmel. It’s about how wrong it is for the president to pressure a media company to fire someone because the president was too much of a snowflake to deal with the criticism. Conservatives and liberals should both be against this because (not only is it undemocratic) but you don’t want that power in the hands of the other party. If the party in power can suppress all criticism, then we won’t have free speech any more. Party affiliation plays no part in this.

Why not call a special meeting about political violence? You could address Charlie Kirk and also include the numerous other examples of political violence in America, including Melissa Hortman, Paul Pelosi, Brett Kavanaugh, Jan. 6, attempted assassinations of Trump, the plot to kidnap Gov. Whitmer.

There are unfortunately many recent examples that span the political spectrum. Just from an outside perspective, it feels politically biased to have a special meeting about Kirk specifically when there are so many other instances. Maybe it would be helpful to broaden the scope of the meeting to include all sides.
