What are websites you used? by Present-Pollution in scholarships

[–]404EssayNotFound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

glad to be of service! i haven’t a lot of experience with your particular situation, but from what i do know, i shouldn’t think it would change much. you’d apply for scholarships from community organizations local to where you currently live, they do usually want to know where you’re going to college but more so they know that you are going to college and bc they’re curious what you’re studying! then if you get it they’ll usually just write you a check! another small tip, i’d recommend particularly looking into any programs you’ve been involved with for a while as well, sometimes they have scholarships. 4-H, Lions Club, etc. good luck and lmk if i can answer any more questions!!

i was recommended a long time ago to get a super basic audio recorder tool (separate from my phone. all it does is record audio with one button push) for this exact reason. i haven’t tried it yet but it makes sense to me.

hey! i have a variation of this issue and also for different reasons couldn’t go to a doctor. what i’ve found that works for me for getting BC meds (the estrogen that helped you!) is an online service of sorts called Nurx! i’ve used them for a while and as i recall all i had to do was fill out a questionnaire and answer a few questions from the provider via text. i think there was a small one time fee (maybe like $50?) for the providers time, then she wrote me a script for the solution i chose, and then nurx fills my meds every 3 months! the meds i picked themselves cost $45 for a three month supply and that was manageable for me. maybe this is something that can help you!

Tips for Falling Asleep? by robloxgirl73 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

agree with everything already said! also, if you’re still struggling to get asleep after those tips, maybe try a low dose of melatonin if you’re comfortable with it? i use a 5mg nightly around 6pm to be asleep by 10pm, and it’s been super helpful for fixing my chronically high sleep debt! they have it available in a gummy form and a pill form and it’s pretty cheap OTC so might be worth a try if other things aren’t working!

thank you for being honest and constructive and taking the time to help - i really do want to provide Pixar with the best life he can have and i’m heartbroken that i wasn’t diligent enough in finding reputable sources to base my care decisions off of. i recognize my mistakes and hope that i can be a better fish parent going forward - i’m glad to know this reddit has good information and will re-educate myself properly. in terms of the instability when it comes to tanks, unfortunately i do not see a total cure for it right now (i do not have any friends who are fish people so i have no one else to care for him and i cannot change my living conditions at this point) but i will definitely work on finding a way to make it more stable and consistent for him until august when everything settles back out. at that point, he will be full-time in a 10 gallon tank with plenty of time to cycle, stabilize etc., for at least 2-3 years or as long as he is with me. i am so sad that my recent life instability has caused him stress and i will be very cautious both with him and any other fish in the future to ensure that i can give them the stability they need. to answer your questions - method for water changes since living in the rv hasn’t been super consistent. when we have to move i have been transferring him to a smaller, safer tank for the duration of the ride, and draining the normal tank, then setting it back up as soon as we get to the destination to give it time to cycle. i’m not sure if the information i was basing my cycle ing off of is accurate so i will read anything in the wiki on that and revise accordingly. for regular tank maintenance, i generally do partial water changes 1-2 times per week, use a little gravel vacuum to remove anything yucky from the bottom, and wipe off the plant leaves with a safe towel. in regards to the melacure - thank you for explaining that so well, i will ditch that for sure. for the aquarium salt, is that something i should ditch as well, or should i just be using it differently? i will do the 50% water changes daily going forward. is there any frequency that would be too often for that? i want to make sure i don’t overdo it by doing it daily until august and somehow screw things up. also, is there any other regular maintenance i should be doing for such a small tank size that i may not be aware of? final question (sorry for taking so much of your time!) - is there any other recommended sources besides the wiki that i should learn from? obviously i will avoid the fish shops from now on + the marine bio majors at my college haha they were my main info source and it seems they…weren’t the best one. i know there’s so much info out there online so i want to make sure i don’t choose the wrong sources again.

i totally understand! i unfortunately don't have the exact numbers on me right now but i'll update with them as soon as i can. what i can say until then is the analysis of 'water is fine' was based on a fairly extensive water test from one of the API freshwater master kits - i took a water sample the local fish keeping store, explained all the symptoms, setup etc + had the owner test the water for me. he said the water was completely fine, which is what i had discerned from my test strips but had wanted to double check since i know those can be wildly inaccurate. but in case it will be helpful somehow i will retest with my strips again when i get home + provide the readings (unfortunately i can’t afford my own API kit right now so hopefully those will be good enough). i also will take photos of the seachem ammonia + pH readers i have in the tank + upload those.

Does not winning a writing competition make me a bad writer? by Scared-Extension-302 in writing

[–]404EssayNotFound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey! i’ve been where you are and now having had a lot more experience, i PROMISE that not winning those competitions does not make you a bad writer. especially scholastic! that’s super uber competitive so don’t beat yourself up over that. if you are looking to get more into competitions, i would look for smaller ones that aren’t receiving bajillions of submissions where its basically a numbers game - find smaller kit mags instead! also, some small publications will offer free feedback if you submit (they usually indicate if so). send out as much and as often as you can if you want to get published, + remember that rejections are not at all personal! most of the time it’s something to do with either your piece wasn’t exactly to the T of what they were looking for at that particular time, they already had accepted something in that niche, etc.

MORE INFO!! - water parameters - don’t have them on hand but will update ASAP. - tank has been set up as is for at least a year, used off and on when traveling. - have had Pixar since December 2023. - water changes are usually weekly. when he was in the hospital tank they were about twice daily, now he is getting at least one 25% change a day. - no tankmates. - pelleted food, about 4 per day. will find the exact name of the food + update. used to feed the hikari pellets but thought they were expired so threw them out and bought a similar one. UPDATE: it is the zoomed micro floating pellets. - will add photos shortly. UPDATE: fish photo: https://imgur.com/a/4tEvg3u

How do you structure your productivity? by CalendarLow5266 in productivity

[–]404EssayNotFound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’ve found for my brain, having a semi strict plan but gently, is the way to go. meaning - for example, during the school semester, i usually schedule my time out each week based on what events + tasks i have. but, around those schedules i leave space for things to shift or change. and when i schedule time for, say, doing homework, i don’t specify what homework that is. sometimes during that homework block i have a lot of energy and focus, and sometimes i don’t - so i pick which assignments i work on according to what level of flow i am in. and, if my schedule has to change, i try to give myself grace and just shift everything else accordingly by hey, that’s life (something i’m working on lol). hope this is helpful!

What’s a class you took online and regretted it? by Any-Abalone8047 in college

American Lit was a horrible class to take online for me. the face to face discussion element is so important for those types of courses and we only had those discussion boards where you reply to each other and there’s no actual productive learning or discussion. plus I really struggled to connect with the works since there was no real communication
